If you're looking for a mix of cute shopping and eating, Grand Ave is great. I didn't span the whole 25 blocks as some reviewers mentioned there are (didn't realize it went that long) but noticed quite a few fun places along the way including...More

This was our return path after walking summit Ave earlier in the day. Summit has the beautiful homes, Grand has the shops and cafes. We stopped at several specialty boutiques. It was very enjoyable and bought a few local items to take home.

Grand Ave is a great place to go for Restaurants. Bars, and unique Shops. It runs parallel to Summit Ave where you can see the Victorian mansions. A fun place to go when in St Paul.

I live not far away, so it's easy to run over to Grand Avenue for coffee, which I do a couple times each week, or to buy a gift for someone special. But it is also fun to walk the avenue and look in shop...More

Grand Avenue is an inviting and relaxing area to visit. This area has unique shops and great restaurants. The only negative is that parking spots can be very difficult to find unless you arrive before 11:00 on most days.

Flying to Los Angeles (2 Replies)
Greetings all. I'm flying out to Los Angeles to do some work on S. Grand Avenue over on Wilshire. Would be grateful if anyone could kindly recommend a decent hotel to stay in for some 10 days or so. If anybody knows one that has HD Tv channels and supports the SPEED motor sport channel, I'd be mighty obliged. Appreciate the feedback. Cheers, aknit.

Hi. We are staying at 40 East Grand Avenue, are we better off flying out of O'Hare or Midway for a 9:00am flight on a Wednesday in June? Midway looks much closer. Thanks.

Anyways, after the Third Ward we went back to the hotel, and either rested or a few went through the inside walkways through the Grand Avenue "mall." Boy has that place gotten pretty bleak. There really are more storefronts emtpy than full (by a significant margin), and the stores that are there are sort of sad. Boston Store and TJ Maxx (the anchor stores) seem to be doing okay, but that's about it, besides the food court. You can get to the walkway from the 2nd floor of the hotel, but you...More

I can't remember reading much about the breakfast at the Residence Inn. Was it included in the room price? I'm sure potential visitors would appreciate a little more detail about the breakfast menu. Thanks again for doing this report.
