This is a must attend event every August. Skip a meal or two before you go though to make some room for all the delicious food that you can only get at the fair.

Attending the Minnesota is very popular this time of the year. Some go for the food & drink, others go to purchase various items from kitchen accessories, the midway to name a few. My wife & I to get our annual fill of cheese curds, wonder the animals and watch the people. Parking is hard to get so take a... More

Great time today! Rides, food, and fun. The worst part is that we tried to attend Friday and the traffic and parking was so horrendous that we gave up after sitting in stop and go traffic for 1 1/2 hours. No parking available once we arrived at the fairgrounds. I have never seen so many people trying to go to... More

First time at the Minnesota State Fair. Not sure what the day's attendence was but there had to be well over a 100,000. The diversity of the attendees, the attractions and certainly the foods was truly a "piece of Americana". No shoving, no pushing, no cutting in line like I' M use to back in New York. Just families enjoying... More

Love the fair. It is what you make it. Great place to try new foods and see cool stuff. Our favorites are corn dogs, French fries, roasted corn and sweet Martha's cookies. Prepare for crowds and slow traffic around the fair.

The entrance of the state fair where buses arrive (west of grandstand) ---is new and looks great. A MN state fair archway overpass---the pretty cable cars gliding to and from--in the distance. Great place to take a pic. Music everywhere-on this Sat. AFL-CIO had a great band, and singer. Also great singer and band close to Clinton tent, walked a little further-young... More

At last check Minnesota State Fair was #3 of the top 5 state fairs in the country! This placement may have changed but the fact that it is one of the largest and most popular state fairs has not changed. I have gone every year since I was a child and although many people are fine going once every 5... More

This is the first time that I have ever attended a state fair, and i had a wonderful time. There is clearly something for everyone. Of course there are the fantastic rides at the Midway and all the fantastic foods to try. The exhibition halls have something for everyone from horticulture, to animals, to merchandise, to fine art! I was... More

This is a place the whole family can enjoy. Make sure you stop at Cub Foods before the fair starts so you can save money on tickets, ride tickets and your blue ribbon bargain book. The metro transit buses at the park and ride locations are a great deal, $5 round trip and 4 and uber are free. We always... More
