Beautiful tranquil setting along the Mississippi River. Enjoyed walking the meandering pathway and discovering another peaceful setting. We were able to see baby peacocks. Open 7AM to 10PM. Street parking. Munsinger Gardens is about 14 acres which is adjacent to Clemens Gardens. Clemens is uphill from Munsinger. We found 2 uphill paths that lead to Clemens Gardens. Clemens Gardens is more of a formal garden setting. Both gardens were a memorable experience. There a benches throughout to rest and enjoy the stillness. We walked aound and enjoyed our morning coffee. Would never think you were in the edge of a city.

We had planned to visit the gardens before heading out of town. When it started snowing, we debated about going. We decided to at least drive by, and ended up staying for a while. It was beautiful in the snow. I imagine this is a great spot to visit in Spring and Summer.

The reviews were too good to be true...well, they were true! Absolutely beautiful, and peaceful on the Mississippi River with seemingly never-ending floral beauty. Truly impressive how well these gardens are maintained, and I'd vote for the best gardens in the USA!

Visited here on way to Minneapolis and so glad that we did. These gardens as well as the Clemens gardens across the street are definitely worth a visit. There is a great variety of flowers and all are very well tended. There was a wishing well full of flowers and peacocks roosting. Beautiful place

This is a beautiful memorial garden! Very thoughtfully laid out & planned. Right along the Mississippi river, with walking paths, fountains, & flower eye candy! Definitely worth a day trip to St. Cloud. It's complimented by the Clemens Garden across the street!

Munsinger and Clemens Gardens are adjacent gardens that are maintained by all volunteer group and provide a great opportunity for photographers and nature lovers to enjoy a wide variety of flora in one area. Gardens are located in St. Cloud, 1.5 hour north-west of downtown Minneapolis. Gardens also provide a great opportunity for picnic areas. Find videos on Google including a few that I have posted and schedule a visit to Minnesota's hidden treasure.

Only an hour out of the metro area are gardens of sheer perfection! Color themed sections....the all white was a stunner and cooling on a hot summer day. If you like gardens add this destination to your list!

My family and friends truly enjoy the serene beauty Munsinger/Clemens brings to our community. As a writer for the Examiner, I have in the past referenced the park as an important, peaceful and relaxing place to go.
Sadly, this afternoon ended up less then peaceful when a friend and I, including my children, visited with my service dog (SD), and my friends service dog in training (SDiT). A staff member that was attending to the white flower garden immediately told us that dogs were not allowed. After telling her that the dogs were service animals, including one in training, she demanded that we will have to remove the SDiT. After telling her that such a request was against the law she proceeded to tell us to remove my friends SDiT while following us for a while. I told her that she can call the police or I would be happy to. She then proceeded to tell us that she will and that she knows the laws, as she has recently read them. I proceeded trying to console my friend that what she was doing was illegal and if she continued to follow us I would call the police.
The staff person eventually went back to what she was doing, but when I stopped to talk to a woman riding a scooter she again came up and rudely asked if she knew the service dogs. The woman I was talking to told her no and that she was discussing how challenging it was when training service dogs, then the staff person huffed and walked away rudely again.
This kind if behavior due to lack of education on disability rights and service dogs should never happen. People with disabilities have every right to enjoy our city parks and attractions even if a service dog needs to accompany them. Keeping this in mind as an example... It is illegal to ask someone to remove a service dog or SDiT and tell them to go down by the river were other dogs can walk. Just as it would be illegal to tell someone with a wheel chair to remove themselves from the area. Service dogs and SDiTs are medical equipment, not pets.

We visited on Friday, August 7, 2015. This is a beautiful, large park right along the Mississippi River. This is across the river from St. Cloud State University. This park is free.
This is a forested park with a gazebo, many benches es and adult swings facing the river. There are fountains and a wonderful canopy of trees to provide shade.
Very relaxing.

Will be visiting from California in mid-April. Will there be anything in bloom at that time? Should we visit?
Written March 11, 2023
I would assume that not much would be flowering yet at that time. But with the mild winter, it might. Hard to tell. Usually, May through September is the best time to visit

Are there enough rest facilities here for a tour bus to stop comfortably while touring the gardens?
Written May 3, 2017
Yes, there are seats & swing seats so you can sit by the Mississippi River. There is more also a gift shop and it sells ice cream treats.
