My boyfriend and I walked around to enjoy some time out after dinner, it was beautiful. The swings around the lake were a nice touch. I loved that I could see myself biking and walking daily with my man. I wished we had more time to walk all the way around. I would love to walk every morning around, just... More

A pretty man-made lake that once had warm water fed into it in the winter keeping 1,000's of geese on it all year around. There are peddle boats and canoes available to rent and a very nice 2 mile walk around lake.

Rode my bike along the river to Silver Lake on a sunny Saturday afternoon. It is a very pretty area with bike, kayak and other small boat rentals. It has a nice picnic area as well/ Lots of geese to keep you company!

I was visiting a friend and we went for a bike trail around Rochester downtown from the Silver lake park to the Mayowood Historical Mansion. The trail is super safe and goes through modern buildings to lots of nature. If you are interested to biking but doesn't have one, you can rent one for $8 an hour at the Silver... More

I come from Duluth, Minnesota which is located on Lake Superior - the largest of the 5 Great Lakes - so Silver Lake is almost small enough in comparison to be considered a large pond. It was a good place to go, however, during a long stay in Rochester (for medical reasons) in order to get in a good walk.... More

We rented two paddle boats for half an hour ($27) on Mother's Day. We got to go up the river a bit a had beautiful pictures of the skyline. It was a fun experience and I would do it again.

Whether you desire going for a walk, riding a bike, taking children to a playground, picnicking or boating this area can provide it. Well kept paved trails and the lake is a pretty place with downtown Rochester as a backdrop.

It is a quiet place amidst a city with the sound of nature; ducks, trees and water. It is a good place to stroll, walk or jog around the lake. The bike and boat rentals were closed when we were there. It is a safe place even for kids.
