We live in Wisconsin and our daughter and her family live 5 hours away in the Twin Cities. We visited Colvil Park in August and October, 2000, in order to safely see our two granddaughters, ages 1 and 3, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The three-year old loved exploring the various play structures at the universal playground and the one-year old toddled around on the soft playground surface. We looked at plants in the nearby Discovery Garden. Near the playground is a giant pair of eyeglasses that provide a great photo op. The large park has three playground areas, tennis courts, shuffle board, horseshoe pits, a water park (obviously not open), shelters, and picnic tables. One could sit on a bench and watch watercraft on the Mississippi River. On our second visit my husband and I discovered the 1 mile paved walking path and made a loop while waiting for our daughter and her family to arrive. The path was nice with a variety of scenery, including the river, wooded area, and small marina. We will be back at this park again!

You simply cannot ask for more. We chose to rent the event building and worked with Kelsey. She was more than helpful in guiding us through the process of securing our venue.Because of the size of the event we chose the building rather that one of the shelters. I liked having the kitchen with a refrig. and sinks. The facility has both air conditioning and heat available. Tables and chairs are provided and their are restrooms in the building. We did enjoy some family activities prior to everyone heading out to the playground and water park. There is so much available in the park for all ages...just not enough time to take everything in!! The park is beautiful and certainly a "showcase" for Red Wing.

We went doe the kitchy picture of the sunglasses, but what a pretty park. Perfect for family get togethers, letting the kids run around or for a couple to sit on a swing and watch the boats go by on the lake. There is also a water park but we didnt go there. Pets are welcome, there is a boat launch, swingset, and shelters with tables.

As someone who lives in Red Wing, I will say that Colvill Park is a pretty good park to visit, whether you have kids (great play area and water park nearby), or want to walk the trail around it. It's located right along the Mississippi, so you can watch the barges and boats go by, and depending on the season, maybe even see a few eagles. If you're into boating, there is a boat launch and a small marina. There are also picnic shelters and plenty of parking. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty nice little spot, kind of hidden off Hwy 61.

Great middle of the day stop for us. This park has a ton of activities for young kids and families. We spent about an hour here and wore out our nephew who really enjoyed everything. There is a water park nearby that you can pay to get into as well. Beautiful views of the river and barges, as well as a neat flower garden and giant sculpture of glasses for a fun photo op. The only draw back with these kinds of parks is that it is in full sun and the slides got very hot.

Flooded right now. Everything is under a bit of water. River overflow. Wanted to walk the garden. But pressure cleaning. Boat area flooded. Pretty trees.

I have been privileged to enjoy the many benefits of Colvill Park for years. Every season brings joy in seeing nature, eagles in flight, cross country skiing, the classes at the Red Wing Water Park, and amazing, fully accessible Universal Playground with garden area. One can always find something to do here.

Our kiddos had a blast playing on this playground. There are plenty of benches and some picnic tables nearby, so if you don't want to climb the equipment with your kids you can stay close by and watch them. There is also a paved walking path along the river which makes for pretty views.

With the fall weather starting, my wife and I enjoyed sitting on a bench overlooking the river while our 11-year-old played at the park. This would be a great place to bring a picnic lunch and relax because there are a lot of picnic tables as well as a covered pavilion that can be reserved for a fee. If no reservations, then available first come first served. Call 651-385-3674 for more information.

This park has SO much to offer! You can sit on the river, play in the water park, visit the gardens, etc, etc. We were amazed by how many parks are in Red Wing. Will definitely return for a stay.
