Beautiful vistas

Sorins Bluff and Memorial Park offer really nice vistas over the city of Red Wing and Mississippi River. There are also some nice facts about the old quarries that used to be here.

Since my husband and I didn't want to take the time to hike Barn Bluff, we chose to drive up to the top of Sorin's Bluff. We parked at the top and enjoyed the great views of Red Wing. Unfortunately, my photos do not do it justice. It is something one needs to see for himself. Very happy we drove... More

I declined my husband's offer to climb Barn Bluff, and opted for the drive up to Sorin's bluff. It was a clear day, and you could see forever up there. Plenty of paths for hiking, and along the way there was signage to explain the history of the bluffs, and the community. The quarries are amazing too.

I grew up in Red Wing and the drive up Sorin's Bluff is a must do on each return trip. I never get tired of the view. You get a birds eye view of Red Wing. You can see the nuclear plant that is near the Treasure Island Casino on a clear day. This is also a great place for... More

Sorin's Bluff is located in the Memorial Park. A large and beautifull park. There are some points of interests here besides the overview points. Limestone quarry and some great info about its history, large green places to play and discover. This is accessbile for cars and pedestrian also. An advantage over Barnn's Bluff (accessible only on foot trails) which was... More

Glad the Best Western hotel staff clerk that checked us in told us about it. Well worth the drive up it. Awesome view! Pictures don't do it justice you have to visit in person!

Great view of all the surrounding area. Nice winding drive to the top. Nice history and and geology signs. Would agree with the sign that says, " Do not advise attempting riding bicycle to top." Keep small children off of the walls.

Visiting Red Wing for a couple days and had time during the day for a little fun. Drove up the bluff to Soldier's Memorial Park and walked all around the bluff, enjoyed the views of the city, then played a round of disc golf. The course is pretty easy with just a few tress and wide open fairways. It was... More

This is one of best parks in Red Wing. The city has put a lot work into fixing it up. There are new picnic areas and bath rooms. I wish the bathrooms were better equipped than port-a-potties. There is a frisbee golf course here. We are going to have a picnic here later this summer.

You cannot go wrong if you take time to visit this park. The views of the river valley and Red Wing are spectacular! There are also two small quarry areas that provide nice rest areas nestled in the woods. We had a great time taking in the view and watching the birds soar over the bluffs.
