So here it goes, I went to Red Lake Falls with a group of friends and one night I went for a shower after we had finished tubing for the day. There was someone in every shower and everyone was singing along to "Eh Baby" by DJ Otzi (great tune) and having a jolly old time. I finished showering, got my things and went back to my camp site. A few minutes later I am approached by one of the staff members and asked if I was showering in this particular stall. It was the stall I had been in and the staff members said that one of the other staff members heard yelling and banging, so they went to check it out. They said they found one of the hinges on the door had been bent and they knew it had to be me because they had just checked the hinge right before my shower (like c'mon give me a break). Anyways I told them that was completely false and it was not be, they proceeded to tell me that the WHOLE DOOR needed to be replaced and If I don't pay to have the door fixed they would call the cops and I could deal with them. So.. I went with one of the employees and tried to reason with them, once we got back to the main office they started to look up on the computer what a "used" door would cost to be replaced, which then they told me they can't find anything under $1000 USD but never once showed me the computer. So I talked to the manager and told him that it is complete bull sh*t. After him threatening me with calling the cops he said "since we can tell it wasn't malicious we will only charge you $200". So some how they went from a minimum $1000 for a used door to only $200 because it wasn't "malicious". Anyways after informing them that this has to be the biggest scams ever I finally paid the $200 USD, licked my wounds and said to myself I would never go back. So thinking that everything is over with, we would just enjoy our last night right. Wrong, later we were approached by one of the security guards who came up to our whole group and pulled us all aside for a quick chat. He said "I'm sure you feel like you got screwed over and now want to get your moneys worth of damage, but ..we will be watching you guys and if anything is damaged you will be the first we come to. Whatever fine just nobody break anything and we won't have any problems right. Later that night we were having a fire (which is aloud) and we were having hot dogs. One of my buddies got a branch and used it to roast his hot dog with, seemed innocent. We were then approached again by security and asked where we got that branch from and to bring him to the tree we got it from. We brought him to a completely random tree then he went all detective on us and started taking pictures of the tree and told us how each of these tree are valued at over $40,000 and by his assessment that branch was worth $1200, so we're like you have to be F***ing kidding me. He then told us i'm going to bring this to my managers and we will see if we're going to press charges. Luckily nothing ever came out of it and how could it, but the whole thing was complete and utter bull SH*T. They chose us to scam and saw how much they could get out of us, but props to them on choreographing such an elaborate scam. Just want to warn everyone that something like this did take place there and if they were capable of doing it once I'm sure they would have no problem doing it again. If I could give this place a zero I would in a heart beat, fair warning everyone.

Thank you for your patience in responding to your review as we just recently noticed the post. We vividly remember your group as you were one of the most challenging groups of individuals we have worked with. During the stay mentioned in the your review, our managers were alerted of inappropriate and destructive behavior occurring in the bathroom facilities by concerned guests. When one of our owners responded to the concern, he witnessed several people from your group (all males) behaving in a destructive manner in our women's restroom/shower facility. He also immediately noticed that one of the commercial plastic shower doors was broken. As our cleaning crew had just attended to the restroom right before your group entered it and, as you mentioned in your review, members of your group were chanting, singing and slamming shower doors, it did not require a trained detective to determine who had caused the damage. As soon as the damage was assessed, we researched the replacement cost of the door, the cheapest replacement we could find was $700 (we did in fact show you the item and the replacement cost on our computer). At the time, you were very understanding and agreed to pay for the damage. In fact, we told you that we would not make you pay for the entire replacement cost as the door was not new and you were so cooperative. Damage to property in excess of $500 is a felony offense but we wanted to handle the matter civilly as you took responsibility for your mistake at the time. We also did not evict your group, although not in line with procedure, because you appeared to be apologetic and tried to make amends for the damage incurred. Unfortunately, the destructive nature of your behavior did not end there. Later that night, after our security team had to visit your group several times because of guest complaints, they discovered that the tree that was planted at your site post was no longer there. After looking around, our security guards discovered that your group had attempted to discard the evidence of the tree over the river bank. With branches all over your site and the only tree missing in the whole campground coming from the group who had shown a total disregard for property earlier in the day, it was obvious who the perpetrators were. Our security team then reported the damage to the police department and told your crew to go to bed as you were all obviously too intoxicated to be on the roads-evicting you at that moment was simply not an option as we didn’t want to endanger the lives of others. It is our goal to create a positive, enjoyable camping experience for our valuable guests. It is unfortunate that we occasionally run into groups of people that are not concerned about the experiences of others or the respect of private property. We have been so fortunate to host guests that find the facility to be the perfect place to reunite with friends and family while being respectful of their environment. It is unfortunate that your group did not reflect the intent of 99 percent of our valued guests.

We all had a very nice time during this passed August long weekend with a group of friends. Lots of pros but some cons, none of them being deal breakers. Owners and staff were unbelievably friendly and accommodating. They were very involved and approachable. All staff and security extremely nice. Showers weren't good. Men's bathroom 1/3 of the showers were working when I showered. Water pressure was bad, I'm sure this wasn't a normal thing. This was not a deal breaker. The campground has a variety of sites, my favorites were the ones along the river. Signing out tubes was a little chaotic, they were busy busy busy so I don't blame them. But at that particular day it seemed a little unorganized, entire process took almost one hour Saturday, but less that 10 minutes the following day. Water was low while tubing, but was still fun. We went twice and wish we went our last day too. Overall great experience and would love to go back.

Thank you very much Brian! It was so fun to get to chat with the kids on their various trips up to the store, even if you couldn't find them to get on the river! We love seeing families like yours come out to enjoy the beautiful scenery of The Red Lake River, and we hope that the rest of your trip was just as great! Hopefully we'll get to see you guys again next summer!

Voyageur's View is a family run, family friendly outdoor weekend- or afternoon get away gem! We took our almost 3 year old twins camping here this summer and had the best time. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure we all had a great experience. We had a beautiful spot on the river - got to see the sunset, a sky full of stars, and a beautiful sun rise in the morning. We've also taken the boys on afternoon tubing adventures. They have tot size life vests available and tubes with bottoms so everyone can float down the lazy, meandering Red Lake River. During the trip down the river, the boys love watching the birds nesting in the cliffs and greatly anticipate our lunch stop at "Picnic Island". It's a great way to spend an afternoon - or weekend away from it all. There is also a nice walking/biking trail nearby that follows near the river. The boys love identifying the wildflowers and birds they see along the way. Steph, Ryan, Jason, and all the staff at Voyageur's have always greeted us - the twin tots included - with a smile. I highly recommend Voyageur's to anyone looking for a family friendly get away!

Thank you very much Briana for your kind words as well as great pictures! It's so nice to have such a great young family join our community and take advantage of the natural beauty of the Red Lake River through our campground, tubing and the beautiful walking/biking trails adjacent to our grounds! We've seen more and more families taking trips down the river this year (a trend we hope continues to grow!) and have certainly enjoyed seeing your family down here as often as we get to! We absolutely love "picnic island" as well! We'll be stealing that from you for sure!!! Thank you so much once again, we can't wait for your next trip to see us!
