Winter or summer a fun place

Fun for all seasons. Walking, biking, boating, fishing and swimming. And the winter is outstanding. Lighted cross country trails and a great sledding hill. All "in town".

They have a huge play structure that is great for young and older kids. I even enjoy it as an adult. There are also nice picnic areas that can be rented and lots of trails. There is a beach but I have not used it to comment on it. In winter, they have a sledding hill and groom some trails... More

This Hennepin County park has many features, but what most interested us is there extensive playground. It has a LOT of multi-level nets for kids to climb into and through, plus a small, younger kids area. Entrance is FREE for each car (there is a charge if you bring bus loads of kids) This place has become very well known.... More

So much to do! You can walk all the way around Medicine Lake-7 mile loop. The park has many hiking trails which become cross country ski trails in the winter. Swimming beach is well maintained with ample picnic areas. Enjoy!

We visit here more in the winter for the cross country skiing paths. The staff are amazing at keeping the trails groomed during the winter months. Trails are lit until 10 PM.

A great park with woods and wildlife. Only one problem, when you go there in the winter to hike the trails, the snobby cross country skiers act like: "Oh, what are YOU doing here?!". Like the whole place should be reserved just for them. Once you get used to ignoring the cross country snobs, then you can get to some... More

The trail is not very long, around 4-5 km but it is well groomed and will lighted so you can ski up to 9:30PM at nite. I enjoy skiing here as it is so convenient and close to my home. Parking is abundant and I have never had an issue with that. There is no artificial snow so trail quality... More
