After taking a 5 hour drive to Hunder Nubr Valley through a bad road it was so soothing to see the place. It was worth that drive and time. It seems Hunder is the only place where you get to see double huntch camel. Sun set was amazingly beautiful and pleasant and I am going to visit it again for sure specialy with my kids as this place is excellent for kids too

We spent some good time at this beautiful place. The sand dunes are amazing, surrounded by mountains. A stream flows by which adds charm to the location. There are camel rides and ATV rides for adventure lovers. Beautiful location

The sand dunes between Diskit and Hunder in the Nubra Valley is a beautiful place. One can go for a Double Hump Back Camel ride in the cold desert or just walk across the sand dunes barefoot. Or even better, you can just dip your legs in the cold stream and sit doing nothing. A very beautiful place to spend an evening

There are too many tourists here and not my kind of place, Sumur dunes are way better. The camel ride is quite sad considering the babies of the camels are crying for the parents and its quite a shame with the way tourists behave and act. There is no proper toilet

This Place is located in Nubra Valley Ladakh (UT) India.
The Hunder is the coldest desert in India.
The sand-dunes, covered with desertious mountain, is breathtaking.
Sand dunes, on the bank of the river, give a spectacular view.
One can feel a different kind of experience of the white desert in the lap of mountains.
These dunes attract thousands of tourists every year.
There is also a wonderful CAMEL SAFARI. Here, The camels are rare species.
These camels are not a normal camel, you had seen in the desert.
These camels have ''double-humped'' on their back.
I enjoyed the double-humped Bactrian camel safari:two_hump_camel.
Moreover, If you have really an interest in traditional cloth. You should try their dresses and get some photos clicked. The traditional and cultural dresses give the best memories.
In winter, Temperature really goes down to minus.
Better visit in the summer season.
These sand dunes are around 1-2 km from Hunder Village.
Overall, I had a great time at this place.
I strongly recommend visiting Hunder once, if you are coming to Leh Ladakh.

My Ladakh trip started in last September, with Beautiful Buddhist monasteries with a lot of temples inside and stunning view of the mountains around make breathtaking. The view of junction of Indus & Zanskar , dry mountains with snow clad tops and green plains is attractive. The Palace in LEH itself is unique. A 5 storied building made from brick, mud, decorated wooden beams and pillars. One gets a bird’s eye view of city of Leh from the palace.
Magnetic Hill located slightly beyond Pathar Sahib Gurudwara but before Nimu. Objects and cars on the hill road may appear to roll uphill in deficiency of gravity when they are, in fact, rolling downhill.
Kardungla pass is a highest motorable road of the world in Ladakh, a gateway to Nubra, Shyok valley and Siacian glacier. After crossing Khardungla top, the road goes down across the mountains to reach Diskit. At the Diskit, a tall Maitreya Buddha in sitting posture, on a high hill top, is humbling. From there the view of the Nubra valley with Hunder village and the converging of Shyok River with the Nubra River provide beautiful pictures.
Nubra valley is unique coz it has a high altitude cold desert! The white sand dunes, river and the brown mountains make an awesome combination in Nubra. One can find the valley laden with ripe apricot and apple gardens.
En-route animals like Yaks, Bactrian Camels, Pashmina goats and Marmots can be seen. The very first sight of Pangong lake strikes and invites us with it’s magnificent color - Blue. Hues of colors spread all around, not just of the water, but the mountains as well change colors from place to place and time to time.
Really I had my fill of the picturesque beauty, unique culture, Buddhist monasteries, exciting adventure spots and climate of Ladakh.

A unique experience on earth : that's the first impression I have for this place. I have been to Sam sand dunes in Rajasthan and here its different. Cold breeze, mountains with peaks covered with snow, water stream flowing by the side, huge white dunes of sand, the atmosphere is wonderful.
Here you have the unique ride on double humped camels, they take you around for 15-30 minutes. We had a lot of crowd and so the scene was quiet chaotic, but having come all the way, we did have the ride which in the end was worth the memories that we carry. Apart from that, you have cultural dances in the area which also are good.
Most of them all, we enjoyed just sitting & relaxing on the sand dunes and near the water stream till it became quiet cold.
