It's amazing to have this beautiful park adjoining our city! I took a hike on one of the many trails that wind through the woods and along the river. It's so peaceful out there! And in summer the lake-like pool is a great place to cool off or watch grandkids build sand castles.

Seems small for a state park, very near the residential area of town. It's rather like a city park. Campground area seems okay from a drive through and the pool is convenient to it, if rather small. Nice shaded benches around it, however.

Terrible beds, either broken or worn out, terrible! If you don't get a decent night sleep you can't enjoy playing like you should be able to. If it wasn't for the beds it would have been a higher rating. Still trying to recover. Of course, they said, no one else has ever complained, They just didn't get this way over... More

came back for a summer weekend. campground was busy. we had a nicely shaded campsite in the non-electric section, right off the hiking trail (#9) that gave us some privacy too. on Saturday night a big storm came in, and both the park staff and the local sheriff's office came in to warn everyone in advance. much appreciated!! the hiking... I grew up in New Ulm in the 80's & 90's, and have many fond memories of Flandrau. I thought it would be fun to take my family to swim and barbeque for the 4th and show them one of my favorite childhood places. What a disappointment, seriously. Everything is SO overgrown! The grass is 2 ft high in areas... More

Stayed in the first camper cabin- electricity and heat! Close to outhouse and bathrooms with water and shower. Able to walk to the manmade pool - 5ft deep with lifeguards that take a short break every hour. There were concessions at the lake if ice cream - frozen treats and other snacks. The staff was very helpful and we met... More

My family goes to Flandrau State Park to enjoy nature. Our main interest is in the woodland ecosystem - especially spring wildflowers. We have noticed a tremendous decline in the quality of our experience. The DNR hasn't controlled garlic mustard which is one of the worse invasive species in North America. It has gotten to the point where it is... More

We go to Flandrau at least once every year. Our favorite is the sand bottom, filtered, life -guarded swimming pool. If your group is older, it's fun to throw a inner tube in the river and float down a way. There are also many wonderful trails to hike and great spots for pitching a tent (or pulling in a camper... Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, sand bottom swimming pool was the highlight of the visit and walking trails were great, we will be camping here again.
