Top Notch Escape Room! I can’t say enough good things. Loved that there was enough room to move about, rooms were creative and the theme was so clever. Seriously if you are looking for a fun way to spend some time in Minneapolis/Saint Paul this is it.

You can totally feel the touch of the creators and the staff with the clues and puzzles. SO CREATIVE! Something for everyone in the group!

Trapped Puzzle Rooms currently has 3 rooms at their location in Minneapolis and the one we did was called The Library. I did this room with 4 other people (2 teens & 2 adults) and everyone had a great time! We finished in 25 minuets which placed us at 2nd place on the leader board. I would highly recommend this escape room for both teens and adults. It is a great way to promote teamwork within a group. Even though you can have 8 people in a room, I would recommend having less than that because any more than 5 people just makes it more chaotic. If you do want to do this with a larger group you can goto their St.Paul location which has a spy vs spy escape room where there are 2 identical rooms and your group gets split into two team in order to compete against each other at the same time.

This is by far the best Escape Room I've done, and me and my friends have done everything in the cities and a bunch on the east coast. The puzzles are just as challenging as places like Escape MSP, but the theming is done so much better! Trapped actually has cohesive themes for their rooms. And it's the cheapest one in town. Can't wait for them to finish their third space!

I've done escape rooms at a few different locations in the Twin Cities and this one is my least favorite. They did warn us in the beginning that it's less of a scavenger hunt and more focused on the puzzles, which is certainly true. But my issue is that the puzzles aren't especially well-explained, even if you discover all of the clues meant to explain them. Without spoiling the room, I'll just say that some of the puzzles require you to make assumptions and logical leaps that aren't necessarily intuitive, and some of the codes provided to help crack the clues aren't especially clear.

If your main goal is to play to "win" (escape), this may be a good option for you. A friend who has been before said that the escape rate is more than 90% and that the philosophy at Trapped is that it's more fun for everyone if you do well, so they're generous with hints to help you get out quickly.

The studio apartment was challenging with so few eyes but we were able to get out and escape only a couple minutes late. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The puzzles were challenging but for a first time and second time (me) puzzle solver the room was achievable. We will definitely be looking to go back and complete the spooky room and library.
Also, these puzzle rooms take place in an pre-1900's to early 1900's house which add to the ambiance.

Great puzzle rooms--we did the "Apartment" and had so much fun we came back for the "Library". Well set up and a lot of fun. Clues are very clever and make you think. 100o times better than the Riddle Room (for any of you that have done that one and been scared off from other puzzle rooms). Get a group and do it--you won't regret it.

5 out of 5 stars!

Raving fan here!!! First time escape roomer or active escape junkie and you'll have a blast at Trapped Puzzle Rooms! I've now challenged 8 escape rooms and the apartment is my favorite room. This room has thrilling puzzles, magical moments and a climatic ending.

The owner is a fantastic guy and I know your support will be gladly appreciated. Solo, with friends and/or family, you will enjoy an hour of incredible entertainment and make memories that you will have for a lifetime. The last thing is, do you have what it takes to escape?

We are a family of 4 with two teen boys. We've done about 150 escape rooms. We visited over spring break 2021 - vaccines weren't all there yet. We were very happy with both getting the rooms to ourselves, and the remote TV used to talk to us as we entered - very cool. Then they had these colored lines on the ground to "lead" us to the correct room. In this downtown location, we did 2 of the rooms - Diagonal Alley (Harry Potter theme) and Dragon's keep (Game of thrones) - it's great to do these even if you haven't seen the movies or the TV Shows. A few unique things about this experience - they call them an experience - and therefore don't cut you off right at 60 min, which is nice if you need a few extra minutes. This makes them good both for beginners and experienced players. The technology in both these rooms is really amazing. The Diagonal Alley is multi-room. If you are new to escape rooms, it's like a 3D puzzle, with many different types of puzzles. Definitely tell your gamemaster that it is your first game. That will help them tailor the clues. The game master will also sometimes offer nudges if you don't know what to do next or are going in the wrong direction. So if you like mysteries, cross-word puzzles, Sudoku, riddles, word games, board games, online games, etc.. these are for you. The first part of any escape room is usually a seek-n-find. Communication while you are in the room is very, very, very important. Sometimes letting your team members know that you found a place for a key just to find out they found a key lock (for example). We always announce which kind of locks we've found - e.g. 4 word lock, 3 digit lock. Make sure to look at the escape rates of the rooms, and/or call to get a room recommendation from the place. Again, the game masters will usually accommodate if you let them know ahead of time. Happy gaming!!

We went to Trapped puzzles in St Paul for our business trip. It was a fantastic bonding experience for the staff. Leslie was very helpful in making the booking happen! We appreciate the flexibility in times and dates. I would highly recommend going to this escape room! We did the Harry Potter room and the Heist. Got nothing but positive feedback from all the staff. We will defiantly be visiting again soon!

I went with a group of 8 for a birthday celebration. For many, this was the first puzzle room they have visited – myself included. Wow, we had such a great time! The room was perfect and the host was really cool and friendly. The little surprise at the end was absolutely amazing – I shudder to think about what we would have missed if we hadn’t solved the puzzle!! So cool.
