If you're more of a casual fan of music, I'd recommend one of their Inside the Classics concerts where they break down sections and give you some contextual background. It really enhances your enjoyment and experience! If you're a classical music lover and visiting the Twin Cities (or the group has traveled near your town) catching an Orchestra performance is... Great performance from the MN Orchestra. The music was outstanding and the acting for the young children was funny. I thought it was a great way to expose young children to the orchestra. I attended with 3rd graders.

Each and every time I visit the Minnesota Orchestra I tell myself I need to come here more. We just went to see Ben Folds with the Minnesota Orchestra and it was unbelievable. The acoustics in this place are so incredible that once during the performance Ben asked the audience to sing and it nearly got a standing ovation from... More

My boyfriend and I saw the Rogers and Hammerstein show in April. The orchestra was fantastic. The space is gorgeous. Sarah Hicks is not just a conductor, but she's a commander. I can't wait to go back.

Our family of six with children/young adults ranging in age from 20 to 13 all thoroughly enjoyed The Scandinavian Christmas Concert at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis. Conductor Sarah Hicks was excellent, Minnesota Boys Choir and Authentic Scandinavian Dance to name a few made this event magical. Truly felt the Christmas Spirit envelop us. It's our new family tradition and look... More

I attend with family or a date multiple times a year yet I am not a season ticket holder. I seem to attend mostly special events/performances. Recently was Home Alone w/MN Boys Choir & the orchestra, last was Vocal Essence/Sounds of Blackness and others were Looney Tunes, a small play & ballet accompanying the orchestra and other varying instrument soloists.... My daughter's choir was asked to perform at Orchestra Hall. They have an excellent performance space off of the main lobby. During the holiday season, they offer it to High school choirs. This a nice little treat for the patrons who are attending a concert in the main hall.

There isn't one thing that I can possible say that would make you not want to go visit the Minnesota Orchestra. Everything from the hall, to the seating, to the friendly professional staff, to the music is all top of the line, always. We're huge fans of all music and enjoy a night out at the orchestra any time. If... More

After a bitter year and a half lockout, the management was expelled and one of the county's oldest symphony orchestras was brought back by the community with its fantastic conductor Osmo Vanska. Management remodelled the hall for $50 million and locked out the orchestra to pay for it (an oversimplification as the recessionand poor financial planning had something to do... More
