I have been coming to Lake Nokomis since the 70’s. I love this beach and lake. It is an amazing lake to walk around and be near the water all the way around. There are the buggy’s to rent if you want, bikes, and kayaks,...More

Another great lake in the heart of the city, and closer to the airport. In the winter, they have an ice skating rink to enjoy. Good fishing year round!

Walk, run, peddle a bike, try canoeing, go swimming, relax in the shade under really tall trees, try fishing from a fishing dock. The swimming beach is great-lots of sand, good quality water. There is a food vender with lots of choices in food, ice...More

Park looks really nice. Kayaks stand was full. Lots of ducks nearby. Neighborhood street has a bike trail. Went while it was raining and area streets get quite flooded.b

Enjoyed the views and people watching in a recent run around the lake. Signage between bikes and pedestrians is a bit overly done and non-nonsensical, but overall it was great.

I may be biased because I live on the west side of this lake, but in my opinion, it is the best of the Mpls city lakes. It is not as crowded as some of the others, has 2 great beaches, playgrounds, walking path, biking...More

We love Lake Nokomis because of its location, size, and diversity of people and things to do. It's about a 2.7-mile walk around; slightly less if you don't cross Cedar Ave. and instead choose to clip off the small southwestern portion of the lake. Most...More

Beautiful Lake, parking usually isn't too bad and people tend to be really nice if you are jogging past them. They do have Kayaks, and Kanoes for rent. The beach area looks clean and usually a decent amount of people enjoying it. You as well...More

I worked as a lifeguard at this lake in the 90’s and came into Minneapolis for a visit. During the visit I wanted to run the lakes and kids wanted a swim. Lake Nokomis was my second choice compared to Lake Harriet; however, I had...More
