The Lake Harriet Bandshell has numerous entertainment offerings during the summer evenings. We attended recently to hear the Minneapolis Orchestra perform several pieces including Star Wars. It was a very nice summer day in Minnesota. The bandshell does have a good number of bench seats available in front of the banshell, but they can fill up quickly, so you should... More

Visiting from Wisconsin and enjoyed one of the free concerts in the parks with the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra. Beautiful setting with the lake behind the band. Ample seating with park benches with backs. Sound was well done as well.

Great place to take in a free concert in summer. Busy place with all the bikers and joggers, but nice setting and energy. Get there a bit early and find the shade of the big trees way back on the hill.

Check out the performances online. I attended my first FREE concert here in 1968. It has been updated since then. The entire park is phenomenal as are all the parks in Minneapolis.

During the summer the band shell has concerts every night. The cost is free. If you don't want to sit and listen you can walk the trails and still enjoy the music.

This is a great place to listen to a concert or have a picnic. On summer evenings and week ends there usually is something to check out. The food venders are okay and make it easy to enjoy the view.

People should go to Lake Harriet during the summer because it is one of the best lakes to relax on a hot day while having ice-cream with your pals. I went kayaking and would usually stop in the middle of the lake just to look up into the sky and enjoy the sunset with my friends.

Most evenings in the summer host free concerts at this bandshell. Plenty of seats, but for the most popular concerts, bring your blanket or lawn chair and a picnic basket laden with goodies. Or buy your food at the Bread and Pickle next door. The lines can be long, but worth the wait.
