A landmark for walking

Was our spot to meet each other as we walk. Can't it moved or anything but it was our meeting place.

Best about Mpls is the chain of lakes. Used to live a block from this bridge. Used to go running around Lake of the Isles regularly. Food shopping at Kinds on Lake Street. Movies at the Uptown, breakfast at the Uptown Bar (no longer exists). Lucias for a meal. Fond memories of my hometown here.

I always hate crossing Lake Street on my bike so really appreciate the paths under this bridge . The bridge is nothing special but it does help the trails to flow nicely across it and if you are going to Lake of Isles on the trail you can choose to go on the trails under this bridge. Usually people are... More

Seriously, this is just a bridge with a terribly narrow pedestrian and cycling path. It offers a semi decent view of the lake but and protection to homeless people who sleep underneath it.

This landmark is part of hiking the area but hardly worth the trip just to see the bridge. The area is of course amazing for hiking, biking, rollerblading, sailing, canoeing and whatever else you can do outside on a lake. The people watching here is also some of the best outside of Uptown.

You have it all at this location - beautiful lakes- 3 to which you can canoe or bicycle or just swim at Calhoun. The Tin Fish where you may rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boats etc. and have a great lunch. The midtown greenway right there for bicycling with public bikes for rent. A good time for both adults and kids.
