My dad, sister and I visited Minneapolis this past weekend and since we only had one free day I wanted to find a way to see as much of the sights as we could. I'm so glad we booked the tour with The Fit Tourist instead of renting bikes ourselves.

We arrived a little before 10am and were greeted by Stephanie who outfitted us with bikes, helmets and water bottles (we were happy to learn that the bikes have little zip-up bags on the handlebars where you can store things like cell phones and wallets without having to carry a purse). She also let us store our backpack with our jackets, umbrellas etc in her bike storage room (which is locked while out on tours).

The next few hours were a fantastic, informative ride across Minneapolis. We stopped at all the major sights (Mary Tyler Moore statue, sculpture garden, etc) plus tons of other points of interest that we never would have noticed on our own.

As a tour guide, Stephanie was deeply informed about everything she pointed out - and her enthusiasm has no bounds! Even as our energy began to flag toward the end (we forgot to have breakfast beforehand, and the tour lasts about 3 hours) we couldn't help but get excited about each stop.

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in moderately good shape - it's not a very challenging ride, but there are a few hills and in total we biked about 11 miles. Thanks for a wonderful morning, Stephanie!

I'm 68, husband is 71. Bikes and helmets sized perfectly for us. Good pace for us. Right balance of stops, info and just riding. The perfect tour. Would never have seen or learned so much on our own. Thanks for a great afternoon.

My partner and I took this tour two days ago and really enjoyed it! We were the only ones at that tour time, yet we had a very personable and professional tour - Erika was just great. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting Minneapolis. Jim from Charlottesville, VA

I inquired back in June about a tour and never received a response. I received an email saying they had received my inquiry and would respond to me in short order. It is now September.

We went as a family of four and only had one other nice person with us. The tour was informative and the guide super nice. Just was a little too much construction downtown, but besides that is was a nice overview of Minneapolis. We also had amazing weather which made it extra special.

My wife and I were recently in Minneapolis and she booked a bike tour. Our guide, Stephany, was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and polite. It was early in the season and it was just the two of us, so we got our own private tour. We covered a lot of ground and a very easy pace. Stephany is very knowlegeable about the history, politics and economics that shaped Minneapolis. You'll cover a lot of ground, learn a lot about the city and see plenty of sights. DO IT!!! you wont regret it

The company that runs this tour is called FIT TOURIST. I found this on google and the sign up process through the portal of Zerve was simple and did not require printing of the voucher/receipt. The cost of $17.00 incl.tax was really worth it. I signed up on line the night before I wanted to take their walking tour (they also do Segway and Bike tours). I went on a Monday morning. From anyplace in the downtown core the tour start meeting place is very convenient. I ended up having a one on one tour as I was the only person signed up. My guide Will Conley was very personable, articulate, mature and he really knew a lot about local history and culture. Conversation was easy and casual. Some of the highlighted areas we visited in the 2.5 hr. tour were Loring Park with the Dandelion Fountain, the sculpture garden (lots more here than just the cherry and spoon), the basilica, and many other points of interest. All in all, an informative and fun way to get to know the city and good exercise too.

Our tour guide, Stephanie, was extremely knowledgeable of the city. She was very friendly and ensured safety. It was a fun and interesting 2.5 hours to ride around the city and stop every couple minutes to learn about a building, bridge, park, or general area of the city. A lot of historical references that help paint the picture of how Minneapolis came to be the city it is today. This tour gave me a much better appreciation for the city and info than if I were to bike around on my own. Stephanie was great! Strongly recommend.

My wife,3 boys ages19-11&myself were guided by Stephanie, owner/operator of The Fit Tourist bicycle tours. The bikes provided were new Treck7000 trail bikes which were easy to ride, were light and maneuverable with an upright position which was comfortable to all of us and much appreciated by my medically manipulated back.
In a bit over 2.5 hrs.our guide not only showed but gave us an interesting history of the exploration of St.Anthony Falls of the Mississippi River and the milling & logging industries which gave rise to Mpls.-St.Paul,Mn.While traveling some of the most beautiful riverside bike-pedestrian paths and downtown bike paths it is no wonder Minneapolis has been chosen eby Bicycling Magazine as one of the most bike- friendly cities in the USA.We rode at a very comfortable pace while stopping to view and learn about the beautiful buildings, parks, sculptures and visual highlights of Mpls.
The bike paths crossed over the Mississippi on wide bridges and went along historic neighborhoods. The bike friendly downtown on-street paths were well maintained and traffic was not a concern as the bike lines are truly separated from any traffic.
Anyone in normal shape from 10-80+ yrs. who can ride a bicycle could do this trip.I bike a little,(once a week);my wife twice a simmer, our oldest son prefers the family car,my younger guys bike to school just to let you see you need not be a Greg Lemmond or anything.
Bottom line:This trip is a winner. You will bike some of the best bike paths existent with a friendly and knowledgeable guide on excellent equipment and will see the beautiful city of Minneapolis from ground level. We will be doing a bike ride with Stephanie again,my crew can't wait!

Stephanie gave my husband and I the best tour of Minneapolis! As it turned out, we had a private tour, since we were the only 2 for that particular time slot! Stephanie is very personable and a fount of knowledge. She also knows which roads to take to avoid traffic, etc. She showed us many sights that we would never had thought to look for--one memorable one was the location where the River Rats conduct a free waterski show on Thursday nights--as a result of the tour, we enjoyed that show the next day. The bikes were in great shape, helmets, water, baskets provided--everything you need. A bike tour is the best way to see a city--much more up close and personal, easier to hear than on a bus, exercise and fresh air, less costly, and green--what more can you ask for!
