The skyway was a big surprise but greatly appreciated in cold wind and snow. The skyway was a nice way to avoid the outside weather. A directory or maps at intersections would be helpful for visitors.

I've been in several cities with sky walks and tunnels and they're nice when the weather is extreme or streets are difficult to cross, so I thought I knew what the Minneapolis system would be like. But, I was wrong. The Minneapolis system is more extensive than most and lined with lots of restaurants, shopping, personal services, and the like.... More

The skyway level is a whole different experience from the street level. More shops. More restaurants. More activities. Great views of the city. Lots of excitement! Great place to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer!

What a great idea! on a recent visit to Minnesota my friend decided to show me the skyways. Being from the East Coast where we have nothing of the sort, I found the idea not only to be logical but convenient. We must have navigated from one side of the city to the other with our feet never touching ground... More

My friend and I walked from the Centre Village on 7th and 5th over to Target Center through the skyway system and it was excellent. Not having to worry about snow, ice, windchill...is great! There are a plethora of shops, restaurants, ATMs and more along the way as well making this the best way to travel in downtown Minneapolis in... More

Minneapolis is a pretty awful place, but if you have to go there, use the skyway. It keeps you away from the cold and far from the poverty and desperation on the streets.

Walked around from our downtown hotel through the Nicolet mall. What a fantastic experience. Went to so many places inside and it was really fun to get some exercise and see the inside of so many buildings and also enjoy the view of the downtown buildings. Great experience!

Look from Minneapolis from above. Christmas parades, winter shopping, general strolling shielded from the winter wind can all be accomplished by traveling the unique and safe skyways. Find any parking garage and start exploring. A great and uniquely local way to view the city.

This is a big network of walkways among many buildings in downtown Minneapolis. It is especially helpful in the winter because you can avoid the cold weather. Not too difficult to get around because there is decent signage, but it helps to know what direction you are going.

A lot of skyway walking will help. The system connects most of downtown and allows people to move from the Target center to the Vikings Stadium to various restaurants and parking ramps. I would hate MN if this didn't exist.
