The Chain of Lakes and parks surrounding them are connected not just by a series of canals. The lakes, parks, garden, bike paths, and walking trails are all surrounded with fifty three miles of the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway. The Byway passes through beautiful lakeside neighborhoods and encircles the city with love. We traveled the Byway in late summer and... More

Wonderful urban trail system that takes you through every environment of Minneapolis. Well maintained paved trail that loops the city though the lakes, Minnehaha Creek, The Big Muddy, The U of M, Downtown, Inner NE and back to lakes and Uptown. So much to see and do along the way you might need a game plan.

This is located near the sculpture garden, a set of restaurants and has among the most beautiful gardens in the city. And don't forget the dandelion fountain. It's also dog friendly if you'd like to take your pooch.

The Grand Rounds is a 70 mile (or so) series of biking trails in and around Minneapolis. The beauty is you can ride any portion at any time. The intersect and interconnect, so you can pick any length of ride, in numerous areas - lakes, downtown, river, woods. Fun, as easy or challenging as you're feeling, and ready made for... More

This is a more challenging way to see Minneapolis. Most of it is on asphalt trails, but there are a few places where one must bike on the street and the route can be a bit confusing.

We recently enjoyed the Grand Rounds while on a Segway tour and this is a beautiful way to enjoy the riverfront on Minneapolis on a warm, sunny June day. Not only is there a lot of see and a lot of history, it's a clean and enjoyable way to spend some time outdoors. Make sure you walk across the Stone... More

Road construction and bridges closed made it confusing to follow the route, but we enjoyed the stops we made made. We began at Minehaha Falls and enjoyed the downtown parks. Later, after abandoning the route, we ended up on Lake Harriet and enjoyed a park bench! I wish the signs were easier to read, and we would have liked a... More

We had a perfect day of biking this trail but got lost a few times when it wasn't well-marked. It also was quite crowded on a Saturday. Beautiful views, though!
