I love visiting the Rose Garden...such a calm, beautiful, peaceful place with flowers that are all so fragrant and colorful. I can never take enough photos, that obviously don't do the flowers justice. I guarantee you'll love it here.

I love visiting the garden. Explore the surrounding area as well. Lakewood Cemetery has history and beauty unequaled. Check out "Uptown" while you are in the area.

I love this place you can walk around the gardens and smell the flowers, read a book on the glassy hill or next to a water fountain. The smell of the roses are amazing. Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket a ball or some bubbles for the kids and have some fun. Or just relax. This place is all... More

One of my all time favorite little spots around Lake Harriet. Huge array of roses and next to an adjacent area with water fountains & gardens. Great place to picnic.

[NOTE: This is a great place to visit in the summer or early fall. The beds are covered by late fall, and roses don't start blooming until late spring/early summer.] I live nearby and often stroll through the rose garden, sniffing roses in each bed to find those with the perfect combination of beauty and scent. Since it's a test... More

Nice garden with most roses labeled by name. Bloom early June until frost. I live a five minute walk from this lovely garden, so no need to grow roses in my own garden! And adjacent to the rose garden are fantastic perennial flower beds, with a scattering of annuals. The garden boasts two fountains. One is a great antique.

The Rose Garden is formal in style, with geometric, formal beds of roses spread over a large area, but the deeper you get into it, the more interesting it becomes. Some of the roses here exist no where else, and were developed by students of the University of MN. Anyone who likes flowers will appreciate this place. The downside, of... More
