Lake Calhoun is great of water sports, they offer rental of canoes, kayaks, etc. Calhoun can be crowded at times, but very easy access to row over to Lake of the Isles which typically has fewer people. Calhoun also offers a great walking/biking/rollerblading trails that go all the way around the lake with lovely views throughout.

One of my favorite places in the summer. Love walking around or riding my bike. There is two beaches and even a place to fish if you'd like with your family. Very beautiful to spend time with loved ones.

Title says it all. The summers are very busy around this lake but winters also have their fair share of visitors.

I have been to Lake Calhoun many times on my bike. It is connected via bike paths to Lake Harriett and Lake of the Isles so you can go around one, two or all three of the lakes depending on how much time you have. There is also a rental outlet for paddle boards and small boats.

I have walked around this beautiful lake many times. Pretty much all of the walking path is out in the open and very safe. The lake is located within the city limits of Minneapolis. Nice beaches for swimming. and no motorized anything can be in the water.

Great swim area, beach, playground, and walking/skating/biking trail. You can rent a bike on the street for cheap, and ride around the whole lake (just more than 3 miles), or walk it.

This lake is good for people watching because everybody flocks here on a pretty Minnesota day. It is my least favorite city lake to run due to how crowded it can get and the shape of makes it especially cold on a windy day. But it's a clean pretty lake in the city so I love it.

Very nice hour long walk in one of the prettiest urban landscapes in the country. Quite lovely year around, and even on a nice winter day it is a great place to go.

Beautiful waterfront path to walk/run/bike. Lots of park/playground areas for kids. Better to park a few blocks away and walk over to the lake area. We were lucky to catch the lake view on a clear day around sunset.
