great place to meet a friend for a walk

I like to meet a girlfriend here to eat at Tin Fish and walk. We just use the trails but there are beaches and play grounds too. There are pay lots but some free parking too.

The Lake Calhoun area is a really fantastic place to visit. There is a great variety of fantastic restaurants and plentiful stores for shopping. The homes around the lake are full of character and charm. There a lots of paths around the lake and there are separate paths for foot traffic and bikers. There are many options for recreation, bikes,... More

Lake Calhoun is great, but busy on the weekends. There is something for everyone...walking, biking, kayaking, sailing, swimming, fishing, picnicking, Frisbee, people watching and getting a bite to eat at the Tin Fish. You can rent paddle boats, canoes, etc. and get an awesome fish taco.

Beautiful sunny Mid-August jog around Lake Calhoun on a Sunday morning. Just about 5K to run around the lake. Super packed w/runners, walkers, and lake visitors. Good to see so many people getting fit. I like the fact there are two trails...one for runners/walkers and one for bikes/roller blades.

Good area to cool off in. Walk, saIL a boat, swim and ride bikes. Hang out , have a picnic, go to the beach. Nice area to eat in as well. Good driving around the lake. I also go to physical therapy in Calhoun center ..

This is a central city gem to take in. Just one of the many lovely lakes around town. It's changed a lot over the years but boasts some fun things to do and great views! Minneapolis rocks. The people go outside!

Although lake Calhoun is beautiful, it is often ruined for me by how many people tend to congregate around it on sunny days. If you want to spend a relaxing day by a lake in solitude, this is not the lake. However if you want to rent a paddleboat, or conoe, and don't mind throngs of other runners/dog walkers/sun bathers/ect.... More

This is great place to go for nice walk around the lake on paved path. You can bike too on a paved path that is well marked. the walk has great views of the south Minneapolis neighbor hoods and a beautiful view of the downtown skyline of Minneapolis from the southwest corner of the lake path. It is 3 miles... More

Stopped by while visiting friends. The lake is clean and seems to be a place where the locals gather. You can walk, bike, or swim. If you are looking for a little extra, they rent canoes, kayaks, stand up paddleboards, paddleboats, and sailboats. Great way to spend a summer afternoon.

Happened upon here from Uptown Artfest. Very cool paths and water access for locals and tourists alike. Didn't have enough time to spend there. A restaurant was packed with people enjoying the beautiful weather and sunset on a Friday evening.
