This is the Blue line of Minneapolis' Metro transit. We traveled several times to Mall of America from downtown Minneapolis. I was very impressed with the speed, frequency and cost of tickets. a must if you plan to visit Minneapolis.

My family and I (myself, 10 week old daughter, husband, and my parents) initially decided to take the Metro from the 28th Street Park and Ride to Prospect Park to see what commuting might be like if we were to relocate from Madison, WI. The trip through campus and on to Prospect Park was nice. However, when we rode to... More

$1.75 can't beat the price. Since we discovered the train they're is no better way. Yes the us a little walking but the ride itself is pleasant

Traveling solo, I prefer to use the public transportation systems of places or cities I visit. They are cheaper and faster than taxis or shuttle services. Here are some things I learned using the Hiawatha Line/Light Rail for 3 days: 1. Map - get this FREE map at the information Desk at the airport or from the Front Desk of... More

I always use this service to travel to MOA from downtown and back and also to go to Airport as it goes right below the Airport entrance. The frequency is good and the timing is disciplined. Costs $1.75 for a trip and valid for 90mins and it's $2.25 during peak hours. You can also use this service to reach Minehaha... More

Best way to get from the Mall Of America to downtown Minneapolis. It's inexpensive and easy to use. A real thrill for young kids of all ages.

Has to be the best way to get to the airport, warehouse district, and ballpark from south of the city. Free parking at the stations, discounted 6 hour tickets for events, discounted family passes, and bikes are allowed. Easy to keep track once on board with posted maps. No restrooms on board, and did not see any at our station,... More

A friend I recently flew into Milwaukee as we had booked the tickets several months ago. Our plans changed when the friend we were going to see was nursing a sick husband. Having already paid for our airline tickets we decided to find the best way to Chicago. We were thrilled,to find out that the Amtrack train station was next... More

Depending on where your staying the light rail is an absolute blessing. It connects downtown (all the way to Target Field) to Mall of America with stops at the Airport and Minnehaha Park on the way. Beginning to end it takes about 30 minutes. The train stops directly across the street from Minnehaha Park. It's a nice walk to see... More
