Great sightlines, friendly staff every event I have attended over the years. If you have never gone you should be aware that due to the location of the stadium, half of the stadium is almost always shaded. Easy to get to, park and get around....More

I saw the final FC Minnesota home game of 2018 and the place was packed with fans. Not the most modern seating and facilities but only a strong walk from downtown (if the weather's good). Fireworks after the game were cool, too.

If you like cold football outside, this is your venue. I prefer the US Bank Stadium when it is cold, but this is college football and should be played outside. Nice and new with lots of food options. Fun university atmosphere.

The Minnesota United Soccer team played at TCF stadium the past two seasons and it was awesome. It is a great time. Visit them next year at their new Allianz Field.

This is a good stadium. Any tickets you buy are good seats! Even in the second level. Good for Vikings and United games.

Not sure about hotels. The stadium is on-campus so the immediate area is campus life. Downtown Minneapolis is a 5-minute drive away with all the nightlife you want.

transportation to TCF bank stadium (2 Replies)
My friend and I are travelling to Minneapolis from Canada next weekend, and staying at Super 8 Bloomington. we are attending a concert at TCF bank stadium and wondering what would be the best way to get there? we can either take our vehicle (what is the parking situation like?) or we could take the public transportation. I'm just looking for advice on which would be the best method.

I wouldn't want my car anywhere near the stadium for a concert. It is in an older part of the city where the university is and it's not built to handle large events, so you see gridlock before and after games. Particularly after. And you will likely see high parking rates too. I would drive up to the park and ride lot at 62 and Hwy 55 in Minneapolis and park there and take the blue line light rail to the Downtown East Station and get off there and change to the eastbound (toward St. Paul)...More

Downtown Minne[p;to TCF Bank Stadium (7 Replies)
We're coming to Minneapolis for the Vikings/Pats game and wondering how long of a walk it is from Holiday Inn Express Downtown to TCF Bank Stadium? We're also considering renting Nice Ride bikes and assuming (hoping) there are bicycle racks near TCF? Thanx for your assistance...and GO VIKINGS!

That is a long walk so I would recommend that you take the light rail train instead. You could rent a bike but there will be lots of football traffic in the area which will make biking harder. Just walk down to S 5th Street and hop on the light rail train that will drop you off a half a block from TCF Bank Stadium.

Best downtown hotel for kids and Gopher game? (3 Replies)
My husband and I are travelling to town for Thanksgiving and the Gopher vs Badger game. We will have our 4 year old and 4 month old kids with. I am looking for recommendations for good family friendly hotels downtown with a nice pool and decent proximity/transportation to kid friendly attractions (Macy's Santaland) and TCF Bank Stadium. Also, any recommendations for fun family activities downtown?

Response frommntoathens|
I have some bad news -- No more Macy's downtown means no more 8th-floor Santaland display. (which is a travesty). Does than change your opinion on where to stay?
