My daughter attends UMN and at first I was apprehensive about a small town girl going to a BIG10 school in a large city. I can't say enough positive things about how 'comforting' UMN made us parents feel. Lots of safety features in the dorms, transportation, etc. Even though we're 'over the border' in Wisconsin, I have to admit I... More

University of Minnesota campus is a perfect reflexion of the the city. It is spacious, convenient, and inviting. Perfect landscaping sets a beautiful backdrop for the wide variety of building styles that magically tie together into a most beautiful campus I've seen. There's no clash of styles, they seem to add to each other. I fell in love with so... More

The campus is split by the Mississippi River and is only one mile from Downtown Minneapolis, and the New US Bank Stadium. The University is a little city all in itself. students have pleanty of good resturants and shopping options. The campus has great sports cluster, for Hockey Basketball, Football and Swimming, Enjoy the campus.

Hard school to get into the Science and Engineering program. Challenging program. Pricey tuition. Beautiful campus with lots of great bike paths and the light rail that goes by campus. Makes transportation very easy. Expensive parking for students and pay for parking in all lots for parents also.

Having two kids in private universities, UM is a large, impressive campus. Transportation to and within the campus is easy. There is a large variety of restaurants on and near campus. The sports complexes are amazing. It's well worth an afternoon to explore the campus.

I visited the campus for my daughter's orientation. It was a great experience. The information received was valuable and helpful. The organizers cover almost all of the important issues that are of concern to parents and in the end we were treated to a tour to get better acquainted with the campus. I fell very happy and secure that my... More

A charming Big 10 University with many traditional-looking buildings punctuated by some new one, like Gehry's.

Had a chance to visit the University of Minnesota to witness our niece's graduation. The campus is really lovely. Very modern and spread out. The student housing is outstanding. The restaurants are plentiful and easy to reach. We loved the trains running through campus.

This university has been planned and well laid out. I highly recommend looking at the architecture. Many old buildings are marvelously well kept. Interesting details from the late 1800s will leave you fascinated. I was there to do some workshops, and my team stayed in Yudof Hall, a modern dorm, which had a towel service and linens supplied. The clean... More

I work at the university in Minneapolis now and then, and am always delighted by the ease of navigating not just the University, but the whole metropolitan area! The locals are all helpful and pleasant, there is an abundance of delicious eateries, breweries, and bike paths. You can rent a Nice Ride bike and get pretty much anywhere you want... More
