Uptown is a great place to spend the day or night. There's shopping and also Lake Calhoun is right near by for a walk or swim. Lots of great restaurants with rooftop seating during the summer.

This is such a fun neighborhood. Great for strolling, fun restaurants, interesting shopping, and move theaters that show indie films. This is the place we go when we want to go out and have a new experience. There is always something new and interesting in the Uptown area. If the quality of a place is lacking, or the place is... This is one of the great Minneapolis neighborhoods: quirky, interesting and diverse, with a grittier vibe. This is not your grandma's hangout. It could be if your grandma is super cool and used to be a roadie for Fleetwood Mac. There are excellent restaurants and shopping everywhere. Parking (for a fee) takes a little extra time.

The uptown area has everything I want: great apartments and condos, a large population of young post-college single professionals, great restaurants (try Chino Latino), two movie theaters, live music, and upscale shopping. Best of all, you are also in the chain-of-lakes area, where four city lakes are connected by channels, and they have beautiful walking/biking paths. It is also close... More

We are just leaving the Uptown Art Fair and always have a great time! The art is interesting, food is amazing and the people watching is a blast! Uptown has so many places to visit and cute shops to stop in and check out. You can get to it by any mode of transportation - and the fun environment totally... More

Uptown used to be a trendy spot that locals loved. It was filled with non-chain restaurants and unique shopping, Now, it is filled with chain stores and has lost its charm.

This is a fun and trendy neighborhood. There is tons to eat and drink. You are close enough to Lake Calhoun to walk off your drinks and meals.

A visit to Minneapolis is not complete, without swinging through the Uptown area -- been a go to place, since the 60's. Fashions may have changed, but what is In-fashion still resides Uptown. Shop forever during the day -- and in the evening there is ubiquitous choices for night life. It is always a scene -- be show and make... More

Uptown has a collection of unique restaurants as well as chains. It easy walking between venues after attending one of the movie theatres. Street musicians in warm weather. Most of the shops are now the kind you can find in most malls, not worth going to.

Great restaurant choices- chains and normal - all upscale. Cute shops -great to walk or drive. MUCH NICER option than downtowns.
