The Weißbier was excellent. Couldn´t taste all. Hop is coming from beautiful Bamberg area where are lots of small breweries. Utepils reminds me on their good stuff. Unespectedly good beer ar Utepils! Great time in the beergarden with our american friends and good life music.
Utepils is a must when in Minneapolis - also for a German!

Tonight was a rough one for Utepils. We went in hoping for a beer but left for Wayzata Brewerks after waiting in line for 20 minutes.

When you’re an established beer writer, brewery visits and tours are a regular part of life. I visit at least a couple dozen breweries every year and a recent brewery tour of the Twin Cities led me to many memorable experiences, one of which was Utepils, a brewery that emphasizes German beer and friendly vibes.
Visiting Utepils Brewing is cool for countless reasons but let’s start with the parking. The parking lot is large and parking is free, so one can expect little time to get your car into a space and get inside. This is much better than many of the urban breweries, most of which do not offer parking of their own. The inside of Utepils is large in size with a brewhouse that surrounds the main seating area. No matter where you sit, the brewing equipment is in full view. The walls are covered in art and the hanging lights add to the brewery’s aesthetic appeal.
Utepils concentrates its efforts on German beer so guests can expect to find hefeweizen, pilsner, altbier, and similar styles. There is no kitchen, but food trucks are a common site at Utepils. And guests can entertain themselves by playing games, watching television, or just striking up a conversation with the staff or total strangers. Everyone is family at Utepils, and the personnel go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Utepils Brewing serves up some good beer and I found I liked the IPA best, but I truly enjoyed all of the offerings. What I think is most impressive at Utepils, however, isn’t the beer but rather the amazing hospitality. I spoke at length about the brewery and the craft beer industry with two of the personnel and learned a great deal about Utepils Brewing, the people who work there, and the customers they serve. It is easy to see why Utepils has succeeded the way it has- the hospitality and friendly customer service is bound to keep customers coming back.
I had limited time to soak up the beer scene when I visited Minneapolis and St. Paul, but I’m glad I took the time to visit Utepils Brewing. It’s a cool place with tasty brew and personnel that make you feel like family. Be sure to check them out on your next visit the Twin Cities and enjoy this Americanized taste of Germany, right here in the Midwest.

While visiting Minneapolis, our friends took us here. The server was very helpful to guide us to the type of beer we would like. The interior is very spacious and there are pool tables. They do not offer food inside but there are food trucks that sit near the front entrance. They list what food truck will be there each day on their website.
The outdoor seating is nice and relaxing. Pets are not allowed inside but you can have your pet with you if you stay outside. Next time we are in Minneapolis we will be back to visit Utepils!

After listening to my friends talk about Utepils for months I finally found a night to check it out and I was not disappointed. Per usual, I ordered a flight so I could try as many beers as possible and still drive home. A flight is 5 4oz pours, so it's the same as getting one beer!
Utepils has a set flight list so I did not get to chose what was in the flight but that's okay.
I really liked the first two - Pils and Copacetic. I did not care for the third - Ewald the Golden. The fourth was an IPA which was pretty good - Glogal IPA. And the fifth was Alt 1848 which I did not like.
But I am still give this place 5 stars because beer is a personal thing. The building is clean, open, and spacious. The game shelf is well stocked. The bar tenders were helpful and friendly. They were out of stickers but they searched high and low for some!
Prices are going rates for brewery beers and they had a food truck outside.
Lots of seating, various sized tables for various sized groups. Two groups can even share a table if needed. Lots of room at the bar. Parking was slightly challenging but there was still plenty of room.

We like coming here to play board games with friends and family. The beer is fairly descent, and the atmosphere is very family friendly.

Not super impressed. Went to see a concert and we couldn't bring in chairs. No place to sit unless you got the VIP experience which was sold out. Beer okay. Not great and a little expensive. $12 for a 6 oz of beer. Don't recommend to see as a concert venue. Standing for 3 hours is not my idea of a good time. If they would have opened the place so we could see it maybe sit down or even bring our own chairs I would rate it higher. We saw Guster which was good but unfortunately I doubt I would come back after this terrible experience.

What a lovely setting on Basset Creek. Lots of birds to watch. My favourite brewery in Minneapolis. Good beer!

Good beer and awesome patio. No food but there was a food truck there that was really busy and smelled delicious. We tried a few of the beers and liked them all. Will definitely go back!
