Amazing spirits

This place is a gem you have to come try their drinks! Everything I’ve tried is so much better than you can get at most distilleries! The moonshine is to die for and this is a female owned business which is icing on the cake for us to support not only a small business but a female owned distillery (the only one in MN!) been here before and will come back again!

Hand-crafted distillery with quality custom cocktails
Aug 2019
This woman-owned distillery and bar offers moonshine, whiskey, gin, and vodka made on the premises. The bar has indoor and outside sitting areas. There is a lot of pride in the quality of the drinks and the service is excellent. I really enjoyed the added touches of concern for others. There are messages written on the ground in the parking area. For the quality and experience it is also reasonably priced. Cocktails creatively labeled, and the prices are from about $8-$12. Downtown Minneapolis bars would charge at least $15 for corporate alcohol. This place is open Wednesday through Saturday. This isn't a restaurant. The only food available is small pizzas and salamis and cheese.

The service was extremely slow—more than an hour to get a drink—and the staff started nudging us out a half hour before their listed closing time, making me feel rushed. We visited on a Friday night, but you might expect a Friday night to have more staff on hand. The décor was cute and the drinks were fine, but distilleries and breweries are a dime a dozen around here.

I think Twin Spirits may hit it's stride in the summer months. I met a friend here and we initially grabbed a seat outside as there was a large group inside and only a few other chairs and it felt like we'd be sharing our conversation with everyone, but the chill in the air eventually pushed us indoors. I had a Rum old fashion($10) and the shot flight($10) which packs a punch. I would say of their straight spirits the Gin and Charcoal filtered Vodka where the smoothest and my favorites. Typically I am not a Gin drinker... An interesting stop on the Twin Cities distillery tour, better than some but I have a preference toward Norseman or Tattersall in the cool to cold weather.

Opening night...
Feb 2017 • Couples
We ventured to Twin Spirits on opening night; the idea of supporting a woman-owned operation was attractive and we wanted to do what we could.

Since the cocktail room itself is smaller than many of the others you'll find in the area, we had a bit of a wait. (Upon venturing back for subsequent visits, the speed with which drinks are made is much quicker!).

The cocktails are complex and interesting; one friend commented that she thought the bartender was "trying too hard." Conversely, I appreciate the levels of flavour and the complexity of the mixture. If I wanted a good Old Fashioned, I could make one at home. If I wanted it smoked, I'd head to Twin Spirits. The Venus Verde, Honey Bee, and Gin and Jam are all delicious, but the Rosemary Ruckus is even better in my book.

Since this is a new haunt, expect the operation to evolve (there were new offerings when we revisited in April). Give this place a shot, see what you think, and then try it again in and see how it's changed. I don't think you'll be disappointed!
