Beautifully stunning.

We walked around the lake in the freezing cold! The main 'red route' lake walk is around 2 miles long and well worth the trip. My 8 year old Yorkie loved it!

This lake is lovely, but I think everyone should know that though it appears on the list of things to do in Minneapolis, this lake is not, in fact, anywhere close to Minneapolis. It is Northwest of St. Cloud. That is far, people. That is like saying Buffalo is in New York. Also, last year someone caught a rare infection... More

At over 125 miles from Mpls, I wouldn't say this was a thing to do in Mpls. It is a nice lake, people are nice, etc. just that it is not in Minneapolis. Couldn't believe it.

Had fun boating tubing and fishing. Lake was clean. Hiked around the lake was there with family and learning i had a past relative that lived in a lake house on the lake and thought that was cool.

I went hiking here with two of my friends. It was about an hour drive from Middletown, where we were staying, and it was worth the hour there and back. Beautiful scenery, the lake was clean and cool. We ended up doing a 5 hour hike along the lake, and then up the cliffs, which was gorgeous. I wish I... More

If you're looking for a place to just lay in the sun and enjoy some fresh water for swimming, boating, etc., consider Lake Minnewaska. Situated about 2 1/2 hours west of Minneapolis on the shores of Glenwood, Lake Minnewaska is centrally located in Minnesota. The community is a living homage to Garrison Keillor's Lake Woebegone.
