A traditional pub with a great seaside view. Friendly atmosphere with all the live sports action & live music once a month, Friday from 9pm. Free jukebox Saturdays from 6pm (sport dependant. Kitchen open 12 - 3pm, Tuesday - Sunday. Special occasions catered for too. Dogs welcome

Pub recently refurbished, doubling seating area and improving the loos. Courtyard with plenty of seating and tables and a bike rack. Selection of real ales plus usual lagers etc.

Friendly staff, efficient. Food now served, great value. The place is spotless. Good choice of beer. Smart outdoor area and conservatory, children and dog friendly.

Great pub with a good beer selection at reasonable prices. Currently closed for redevelopment work to be carried out. Hopefully it won't be too long before the doors are open again.

having lived in deal for 10 years and previously loving this pub as a regular friday and saturday and sunday jaunt...........bitterly disapointed with this place and its wierd collection of locals it attracts

Having lived in Deal some years ago, I was looking forward to visiting my old stomping ground. Unfortunately The Stag was a real disappointment. The locals were very cliquey and the music was intrusively loud (and bad)!!

Despite having 'changed hands' several times in recent years the Stag has had little in the way of refurbishment or improvements.
Still a little on the 'dingy' side with only average service. The 'regulars' tend to hog the bar space and make one feel a little uncomfortable whilst trying to order drinks.

Dear Brian
We are very sorry to hear that your visit was disappointing.
Our recent refurbishment only happened in March in which the inside and outside have been completed re-painted & new signs to the front & rear have been placed.
We ourselves are replacing soft furnishing & outside furniture to keep improving the overall feel & look of this little previously unloved pub.
We would like for you to come back & give us another try.

We stopped by for a drink in the middle of a January afternoon, so the pub was very quiet. I'd describe the barman as neutral. He acknowledged our arrival, served our beer, and acknowledged our departure. Apart from that, the only other thing I saw him do was clean a couple of glasses. The beer was well kept, and he knew how to pour it.

Visited several times over a couple of years and have received a friendly welcome on each visit from both regulars and staff. As a bonus, there is a sunny garden area at rear and the toilets are always clean.
