Refurbed Pub
Jan 2020
Pub recently refurbished, doubling seating area and improving the loos. Courtyard with plenty of seating and tables and a bike rack. Selection of real ales plus usual lagers etc.

Great pub with a good beer selection at reasonable prices. Currently closed for redevelopment work to be carried out. Hopefully it won't be too long before the doors are open again.

We stopped by for a drink in the middle of a January afternoon, so the pub was very quiet. I'd describe the barman as neutral. He acknowledged our arrival, served our beer, and acknowledged our departure. Apart from that, the only other thing I saw him do was clean a couple of glasses. The beer was well kept, and he knew how to pour it.

Friendly welcome

Visited several times over a couple of years and have received a friendly welcome on each visit from both regulars and staff. As a bonus, there is a sunny garden area at rear and the toilets are always clean.

Appreciated haven on a cold & windy day

The best pint of Guinness I've had since arriving back in the UK.
A really warm welcome in this traditional seaside pub made our walk along the beach well worth the effort.
Although we didn't eat there is an extensive menu of traditional pub food.

We found a great atmosphere with welcoming staff. The food was good and the beer well kept-what more could you want? Oh yes, the view! From the front of the pub you look directly to the sea.All in all a good place to be. Steve N.

Awful
Having lived in Deal some years ago, I was looking forward to visiting my old stomping ground. Unfortunately The Stag was a real disappointment. The locals were very cliquey and the music was intrusively loud (and bad)!!

Dear Glyn We are sorry that your visit was unpleasant & are continuing to improve the look & feel of this once unloved pub. We hope one day soon you could visit again.

Seaside pub
Very clean and well kept pub, right on the sea front with beautiful views. Didn't try the food. Just a couple of drinks and a game of pool in a pleasant pub with very friendly staff.
