I took my 4 & 6 year old here and it was the perfect way to spend a couple of hours. They could have stayed longer. They had a nice variety of activities and some of which I had never seen at a children's museum (wood working). Everything was clean and well maintained.

for the cost, it was perfect. It was small enough with enough stations for kids to run and play, yet be able to keep them busy. It was worth it for us to go play for 1-2 hours with the kids. We would stop down there again in a heartbeat to let our 4 yr old play again.. lots of learning for the younger children vs the older children.

Met some family here in July and was a bit worried about whether our 2 year old would be entertained with a museum. He is a really rambunctious, active kid so naturally a museum wouldn't be the ideal spot - but the Children's Museum in Mankato is not a museum at all! It is a playground extraordinaire and it kept my little guy entertained for 2+ hours until we, the adults, decided it was time to go. There were little play areas with trains and farm toys, a kitchen with cupboards and vegetable garden. A slide, a play house, a table of legos, colouring, painting, sandpit (the quarry), blocks to throw around (soft, don' worry!), tiny shopping trolleys, dress up clothes, outdoor farm area to pet some animals (avoided this due to the heat and, frankly, a lack of time!). The kid just did not get bored once. Was awesome!

Lots of different activities for the kids to do. Sometimes they have special events. It is fairly expensive as you have to pay for the adults too. You can buy a membership.

Had to kill some time with a couple 11 year olds and found this place on line. It is small but so well done with plenty of exhibits to last a couple hours. The farm to table cafe and the rope climber were highlights but there was so much more that was great. These kids were prob on high end of age for this place but they still very much enjoyed it!
