The lift lines are small during the week and later on the weekends, has enough vertical to be challenging to most skiers, or easy for beginners. We went after a snow storm the night before and it was a blast!! Rentals available for all ages, and skill levels.

My husband and son spent several weekends skiing at Mt Kato. We love the family friendly environment and helpful staff!

This is southern Minnesota skiing. My. Kato is a fun place to learn to ski. Instructors do a fine job getting kids and adults going. Food and drinks are a fun way to wrap up the day.

We were here on a Friday skinning from 2:00-4:30. The guys in the boot/ski fitting room were awesome. I didn't even have my paperwork filled out before they were asking me my shoe size. I actually had to get a smaller pair of boots and they helped me get the old ones off, which isn't easy :-) the ski lift... More

Mount Kato keeps getting better. The chalet interior makeover is an attractive, fresh change. There are more specials and promotions than ever. New staff are pleasant and efficient. The best part of this hill are the quality, experienced staff and the extraordinary retention of these employees. And the proximity of the hill to South Central Minnesota.

Some snow, but due to warm weather, a little early in the year to take advantage of all the runs. But still a good experience!

Mt. Kato is located off of hwy 90. It's a typical small "Midwestern" ski area. They have excellent kids lessons on the weekend and you'll be amazed that your kid can ski after one full day of lessons under the "Kato Kids" ski program. The staff is friendly and and it's a very safe place for your kids to go... More

If it's your family's first time on a ski slope, this is a great place to learn. Wonderful instructors and helpful attendants in the rental shop. Nice beginner runs. Eating in the lodge is expensive. You can bring your own food and eat in indoor picnic area.
