Blue Mounds State Park was suprising and beautiful. After driving across the cropland of SW Minnesota, I got accustomed to the flat terrain. But where the Sioux Quartzite rock erupts at the ground surface, there are dramatic changes in topography. This rock was so hard...More

I grew up in Luverne, MN and so may be a bit biased on the Blue Mounds. The quarry is an awesome sight. Drive past the interpretive center and follow the curve to the right, you can park down below the quarry and then walk...More

The camp grounds were very well kept and the park is very nice. unfortunately there was no water. the staff was very friendly and if the water was okay, I would have rated it 5/5. we hope to go back in the future.

We visited this park and enjoyed the hiking trails. The campground looks nice, updated and well maintained. We didn't camp this time, but may in the future.

Had a hard time finding the main entrance as there is NO sign on the main road out of LuVerne! Why? Did do some hiking but disappointed that we didn't see any 'buffalo' as they are supposed to be an important attraction.
