Memory Lane for old fishermen

I planned this on our trip, for my bf, who's in his 50s and LOVES fishing. The kids & I aren't as hardcore as him, but we did find the trophy fish mounts interesting. There is a... read more

This is a 2 hr visit thru the past. Lots of old lures, rods, reels, tackle boxes, outboard motors, nets, spears, decoys, lokators, maps, log cabin, furs, mounted State Record fish. The grandkids love visiting every year. They watch the freshwater fish swimming in the aquarium, during feeding time. They enjoy sitting and coloring the fish books, and playing the... More

I planned this on our trip, for my bf, who's in his 50s and LOVES fishing. The kids & I aren't as hardcore as him, but we did find the trophy fish mounts interesting. There is a lot to see, and although most of it was of little-to-no interest to me and the kids (rods, reels, lures, etc), he kept... More

Great for kids and adults as I was not a fisherperson I ended up loving the museum and stopped at the gift shop and bought a pair of bobber earring that I will wear often. The staff was very helpful and full of smiles. They are moving to a bigger facility in the future and we will be back to... More

I was into fishing most of my early life. I'm over 50 now but still occasionally enjoy going fishing. This museum caught my eye and I thought I'd take a look. It was WELL worth it! Small....maybe....but crammed FULL of truly great old fishing items....lures....rods/real.....photos....history....you name it. It was well laid out and the lady at the counter was lovely... More

Museums you have everywhere, but when one exists on the local expertise, you should give it a try! This is very appropriate for this region, and unique.

Particularly if you grew up or live in the Midwest, and love to fish, this is a stop well worth your time. The artifacts from the early days of fishing include rods, reels, tackle, and motors. You will be encircled by mounts of very kind of fish available in the lakes, rivers and streams of Minnesota. I consider myself a... More

My husband's mother had submitted a few of his Dad's fishing items after Dad passed away several years ago. We wanted to see those pieces of family history in this wonderful and fun museum.

For me, this wasn't a great attraction, but it was interesting. For my Father who loves everything fishing, it was a great stop. There were a lot of kids there who seemed to be enjoying themselves just as much as my Dad. The staff is friendly and I found some neat reasonably priced stuff in the gift shop. If you... More

Small, neat with many items of interest to serious fishermen and women. Took about 30 mins but worth the $4.00 for seniors if interested in fishing.
