Be sure to pull over and take a walk into this peaceful grove of Red Pine trees. On the day we visited, the sun shined through the trees at just the right angle; at that point I knew why the group of preachers had stopped here. The canopy of these tall pines is spectacular!

Walking amongst the towering trees of Preachers Grove was a humbling experience. Peaceful and serene. So beautiful!

Our friends were married here this fall and it was a beautiful location for a wedding when the leaves are turning.

This is a nice little stop on the main drive around Lake Itasca. It is a path that takes you through a grove of soaring Red Pines that overlooks the lake.

This is a place of soaring pines, wind whispering through the trees, stunning lake views and an infectious sort of silence. When visiting the lake, you should not miss it. It will recharge your batteries after the hectic nature of the Headwaters area, or the group-enforced closeness of the Chester-Charles cruise. Time to rediscover yourself! Enjoy!

It was a nice, quick stop on the way to our campground- If you really want to get the most of it you should take plenty of time to do the little hike from here to peacepipe vista (and bring lots of bug spray for after april!!!)

One of the most beautiful and serene areas of the park was named Preacher's Grove after a group of preacher's camped here in the 1920s. Look for signs along the Main Park Drive - not too far from Douglas Lodge area. Take the path (short walk) down towards the lake through the beautiful red pines. Parking is available.

I was here to attend a wedding. It is a beautiful place for a wedding. There is a parking lot right across the road. It might not be good for a very large wedding, but for one of less than 100 guests.

If you want to see old growth trees, this is the perfect spot. We ate lunch here and really enjoyed it. Noticed there is also a great bike path that goes right through this area.
