Brad's creativity and expertise with silver and gold are incredible. The prices on his artwork are extremely reasonable. His whole compound of buildings is so charming. They were constructed by Brad and he carved all the architectural embellishments as well. Adding to this ambiance is his friendly and helpful demeanor. A great stop for your North Shore travels.

I have stopped here on my last 2 visits to the North Shore and will continue to do so! Mr. Nelson has a wonderful gift and art shop in his awesome Norwegian Stabbur, featuring his own creations, local artists (including his mother's!) and international. I always find a treasure for myself and gifts for others here. The shop is open year-round, unlike a lot of places up North, but it does have limited days/hours during the winter.

If you are traveling to or from Duluth, MN, along the north shore of Lake Superior, you have to stop at B E Nelson Silversmith, owned by artist Brad Nelson. his shop is located in an authentically built Norwegian Stabbur just south of Two Rivers on Old Scenic Road. His original jewelry design honors his nordic heritage while incorporating contemporary styling. Brad loves to include natural elements into his traditional silversmithing techniques. Every time I stop through his shop, Brad is creatively developing some new design. If you are looking for a unque gift, I highly recommend viewing Brad's work!

We stopped in on our way back to the Cities from a weekend in Schroeder, and what a find! Not only is the jewelry Brad creates gorgeous, but everything in the shop has a story, and Brad clearly loves what he does, and loves to educate people who stop in on the history behind his designs! We spent over an hour with them, and with every new topic, Brad would disappear for a moment, and come back with literature and new designs that he is working on - all absolutely beautiful! Some of his stories were touching and some were humorous, but all were genuine and related back to his design styles. His mother is a lovely woman who clearly loves her son and his work - and happily works alongside him, running the shop. The fact that EVERYTHING he sells, is handmade, by HIM is astounding. And most of the stones he uses are from local beaches along the North Shore. Stop shopping online for crap made in China and Taiwan - and stop by and spend your hard earned money with Brad! The time and love he puts into his work is priceless...and so much higher quality than you will find anywhere else. Shop local, shop small business!

Nothing "made in China" found in this shop. Instead, you'll find local and Scandinavian folk art as well as Brad Nelson's stunning jewelry. Brad honors ancient designs, but puts his personal touch on his work, making it contemporary and still authentic to his Scandinavian roots. He supports local artists, potters, woodcarvers, knitters and also has Scandinavian imports you won't find in other stores. It's a cultural experience! How does he fit so much into his shop?

It's not a gift shop as much as it's a cultural experience. They sell handcrafted and culturally interesting items. We ended up with a Æbleskiver pan and my daughter can't wait to try it out. My youngest has his little Two Harbors lighthouse on his nightstand and has been bragging about his agates. It was so much more special than visiting a branded gift shop. It was a whole experience, not just a purchase. Thank you!

This shop has some unique silver jewelry and beautifully crafted Scandinavian items. It is a required visit for us when we're on a North Shore tour.
