Apparently there are two listings for this attraction on Trip Advisor as the last one I chose actually listed this state park as a hotel! Anyways, this was a great place for swimming, hiking and boating. The park is very neat and clean with lots of room to move about. The swimming beach was very busy that day but there... More

Very small state park. Rangers were very helpful, and when we decided to leave early due to bad weather, they were very accommodating. Even though the park is right on Mille Lacs Lake, there are no good spots for fishing from the shore. Campground was OK. We ended up right next to the playground (which wasn't on the map), and... Father Hennepin State Park is located just a few minutes from Hunter Winfield's in Isle. It has a nice beach. The grounds are well-maintained. It is very peaceful and good for taking a walk or biking. We were there early in the season and during the week, so it wasn't crowded.

We camped here last year and absolutely loved the biking trails, picnic area, scenery, beach, facilities, and we will certainly be visiting again this year.

We were so fortunate to have great weather the first weekend in Feb. and to find this gem of a state park. Beautiful hour long trail through the woods! Makes us want to come back to the area during the summer!

this is one of the smaller state parks I've been to. there are some hiking trails, and limited biking trails. but the real draw is the lake. there are 2 access points, a fishing pier, and a nice sandy beach area. we also hiked out to the point, where you can see more of the lake. but there were some... In my opinion the main attraction at this park is the waterfront. The water is clear and the area is very peaceful.

Excellent spot to watch the sunset on a beach. One of the few sandy beaches on Mille Lacs. Wish that the beach area had a changing house - pit toilets are fine for 'doing your business' but not what I want to change in. Hope to further explore the park in the future.

We took a day to drive around Lake Mille Lacs and decided to stop at Father Hennepin State Park. We drove around the park and found the dock and beach. There are many hiking trails around the park and visitors can easily walk the trails between the campground, dock, and beach. We saw several children riding bikes between the campground... More

Love the swimming beach! We also went to the I can fish program in June and the kids loved it. No need to have all the equipment, they provide it! Didn't catch anything but kids loved it. Can't wait to try one of their other programs!!!
