Visited during the last week before seasonal closure. Had never been here before and it was really interesting to learn about the research done on black bears. The short film was excellent and it was a special treat to see three of the center’s bears!

Lovely place. Very entertaining tour. Nice people there and a nice view in the bears. Paid 26$ for two adults and spent 1 1/2 hrs. there. When you are around you should stop by.

We came to visit Ely during the last weekend that the Bear Center was open October 20. We appreciate that the attendant informed our family of seven that only one bear might be seen since the remaining bears were already in hibernation. Happy that we...More

It's a great center. Very educational. One learns about myths about bears. Their habits etc. We enjoyed it.

I travelled from Australia to Ely just to see the Black Bears and cannot praise all at the North American Bear Centre highly enough. They operate on a small budget and most staff are volunteers who do an amazing job and are very knowledgeable. There...More

My friend and I had a great time! I learned a lot about bears. How they eat and how they sleep. The whole nine yards. We visited right at the beginning of October and the bears were moving into hibernation mode. That was fascinating. The...More

I would give more time than an hour, I would try 2-3 hours. There are many things to experience at NABC and watching the bears interact with each other and the staff is fun stuff.
