We found this to be an exceptional visitor center. Although the resident bears here are black bears, there is a wealth of information about all bear species...black, grizzly, and polar. I was especially interested in learning more about the ways bears live and the many myths we have about them. They have 4 resident black bears who can be viewed... More

You can't miss this or the International Wolf Center! Interesting and new information, close-up with bears, and early Christmas shopping for bear lovers.

My wife and I were visiting Ely and discovered this gem on the edge of town. $12 for a a tour of their facility that includes seeing the bears when they're out. Very much like the Wolf Center on the other end of town. Nice gift shop and professional staff to address questions.

We enjoyed the time meeting and learning about all the bears that live here. They truly are amazing creatures and hopefully places such as this center will help the beautiful animals survive by educating the public and offering their assistance when a bear is in danger.

My wife and I visited the Bear Center in September 2016. This beautiful facility has many interesting exhibits, mounts, and information on all things bear. The highpoint was the tour to see the bears themselves up close. Our favorite was Ted, a large male, who contently ate peanuts out of the attendants hand. This is a great place for families... More

I was stunned at how up and personal you could be with the bears at the Bear Center. They did a great job with the tours. The displays were beautiful and so informative.

Before stopping at the Bear Center we watched a TV show about Lynn and a few of the bears. It was really interesting show casing his and others work with the bears. The show was one of the main reasons for stopping at the Center. We were able to watch the caretakers feed the bears their frozen treats and then... More

Everything you have always to know about bears and more but were afraid to ask!!!. What a great learning experience in learning more about one of Mother Nature's beautiful animals. Also got lucky and got to see three of the four bears residing at the Center. There is also a separate section devoted to other animals such as wolves and... More

The center includes lots of information, a small theater, a cub room for small children, beautiful displays, as well as, several black bears on site behind the building. It was a well managed and great facility.
