Loved the hike and the falls, but be aware this is not well suited for small children. The falls area is actually quite dangerous (exposed cliffs and foot falls) and the hike might be too much for young children. We read some reviews about how...More

About a .5 mile hike on a relatively easy trail through the north woods. The end sight is a grand view. Kawishiwi Falls Trail is about a 15 minute car ride east and north of Ely. Easy to find. Plan to spend about an hour...More

Nice hike, about half a mile. The falls are beautiful. If you have walking sticks, good idea to use them. It helps with some of the hills.

Well worth the short hike and bugs were not bad at all (to our surprise). The geology is amazing and the photo opportunity is worth going early. Parking is available and big enough for a small trailer (up to 20 ft). If you are a...More

This hike is just a few miles out of town and only takes about 10 minutes to walk to the falls. We have been to Ely many times and I can’t believe we just discovered this now. What a great stop and awesome photo opportunity!

Great view and the dam is very cool, and not a long walk! But, I wouldn’t recommend swimming because there are lots of rocks

The trail was a bit icy but overall easy access to the falls! Beautiful, rewarding views when you reach the falls. I'd recommend to all.

It’s a short hike to the falls but it can be tricky in some spots with tree roots and rocks, that can be slick when wet. The falls are very nice to see anytime of the year. You can usually find people coming or going...More

I enjoy walking to Falls when the water is high in the spring or when the colors are changing in the fall. A quick hike to get a small taste of what the wilderness around ely is like.

Yes, but it's dirt and not all level. Could get crowded and hard to get out with alot of cars. I wouldn't take our 40ft coach there.

Take highway 169 north to its end where it turns into Fernberg Trail Road then a couple of miles look for sign to the falls trail on the left. Total distance from Ely is about 5 miles.
