I'm not sure why this doesn't show up on things to do in Ely. I've been on and to several sled dog facilities. This is, by far, the best I've seen Peter McClelland knows his s&%$t but is an easy-going kind of guy. This translates well into the staff he hires and their approach to your adventure. I can't say enough good about this operation - I'll be back next year for sure.

We can't say enough about this trip. We had so much fun! We did a three day trip and took the lodge option. Everyday we ran through pristine wilderness, ate a camp lunch and came home to a much needed meal and early warm bed. The sledding is amazing and the dogs are adorable and friendly. My wife only half-joked about smuggling one in our carry on. Our guide, Eliza, was competent, extremely personable and displayed an extraordinary amount of patience with us as new sledders-no "guide attitude". She is a true professional and I would reccommend her to anybody. The owner, Peter, is also very friendly and took time to talk to us every day. He even had dessert and hot chai waiting for us after the exhilarating night run home (no lights allowed!). We stayed at the Grand Ely Lodge. Very friendly staff and food was above par. You will appreciate the hot tub after 30 miles on the trail. If you are looking for an adventure with a professional guide service this is your place. Make sure to watch the videos regarding dressing for the cold!

Thanks for another awesome trip! I have brought all 3 of my daughters on a full day trip when they are in 7th grade and they have always loved it. We both get plenty of time mushing and warming up inside the sled. The crew at white wilderness are terrific. My youngest was a little nervous but the guide explained everything. They also obviously love these dogs and know each of their personalities. The dogs are well cared for, happy and love to pull.

We booked our dogsledding / camping / yurt trip several months ago. As the time for our vacation neared, we had a lot of “what were we thinking thoughts”. We are from Houston, and the idea of camping under the winter stars seemed crazy! But we couldn’t have had a better trip. We had sooooo much fun! Our guide, Paige, was a ball. The dogs were fantastic, and the experience of dogsledding was outstanding. There was a lot to getting camp ready each day. Paige would have been fine to do it all, but we pitched in to get the real feel. We were rewarded with campfires, comfort, and incredible meals. We are so glad we got outside our comfort zone and partnered up with White Wilderness for a terrific vacation. We are thinking we should do it all again next year. Many thanks to Peter for his wonderful company and to Paige Who was a great guide!
