The DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace is one of my favorite buildings in Duluth. It's right in Canal Park close to Lake Superior. Here you can find a candy store, book store, violin, shop and some great places to eat. It's a unique building and a perfect hangout on a rainy day. It's where I went to seek shelter when there was a downpour.

This is a typical tourist indoor mall. The bakery in the basement can't be beat-excellent. The art gallery is pretty to walk through. While we were there the Viet Nam style restaurant shut down their air conditioning to save money. The rest of the shops are just overpriced.

I take my grandsons to the DeWitt Seitz Marketplace every time we're in Duluth! This time they had some of their own money (they're 4 and 6) and we went to the toy store upstairs first (J Skylark). It's so much fun to wander through and see all of the unusual things they have for all ages. Then we went down to Hepzibah's Sweet Shoppe and each of us got a piece of candy. There's so much to choose from, I can't imagine anyone not finding something to get excited about. Mine was a 'Birthday Cake' truffle. It was DELICIOUS! When I'm not with the kids, I like the Art Dock, The Blue Heron, and of course Northern Waters Smokehaus!

Stopped by and visited the stores. All were pretty crammed with "stuff" and hard to navigate. Definitely some unique things, but the feeling of being crammed in was a little overwhelming and I had to leave.

I live in Duluth and love to shop. This group of shops is a go-to spot of mine for unique gifts, local art, high quality kitchenware, good chocolate, and smoked fish. So many reviews about the high prices but I disagree; prices are reasonable for small businesses. So much of Canal Park is chain restaurants and kitchy shops but DeWitt-Seitz has kept it authentic over the years and still feels very "Duluth." Also check out Waters of Superior.

Nice shops but it is a tourist place so prices are high. Lots of stuff and fun to look around. Did spend some money there.

I was expecting many more shops in this tall building. But only two floors worth. It would be helpful to find a list of the shops on the exterior of the building and their specialties.
