Lester Park is my favorite local park for the variety of trails. Starting in the park, you can climb the hill on the Amity East trail, or the Lester River trail; they connect via a (muddy) ski trail. Be sure to study the posted maps if you veer off trail. Also, if you're hiking, weekday mornings are least crowded in... More

my wife and i golfed there on a sunday morning. did 18 holes. there are 27 holes. the front nine and back nine are a little more slice or hook friendly and the lake nine is more demanding. you need to drive it staight which we didn't lost 10 alls and found six. you get some nice views of lake... Several trail paths follow the river and you get amazing and stunning views! I loved this park, it's a must see when visiting Duluth.

Nothing spectacular, but pure relaxation. Nice small park close to Duluth. Places to hike and picnic and simply relax and regroup!

The city could give this course more love for maintenance. But the Lake 9 is rarely crowded and has spectacular views of the Lake. The Lake 9 is pretty challenging. The front 9 is more popular because it is less challenging.

I rode Lester this past weekend - excellent fall conditions. The trails were dry, fast, good flow, with occasional tight turns. There are a few bridges which add to the fun. For the most part, trails are well marked, though if you come out to the north side (near the Duluth Traverse trail), you have to travel down a gravel... More

our GPS for some reason detoured us off of 61 and through town, and when we drove over the bridge and saw the creek, we had to cut a quick turn around and come back. Spent a couple hours exploring. Great little not-so-crowded area that would be perfect for a lot of different uses, or just walking around taking pictures.

I live very close to this park and almost bike to it everyday! This park has a Nordic/snowmobile trail in the winter and can be used as a biking/walking trail in the summer! Also in the summer theirs cliff-jumping! Its not the safest place to go for height. This place is a must see if your in Duluth! Come visit!

We spent several hours there this morning with our three girls - ages 6,4, and 3. There were lots of things to do there to keep us all occupied. We spent some time on the playground, went for a walk/hike on some of the trails, enjoyed a picnic in a secluded spot on one of the trails (but still had... More
