Many tourists flock to Canal Park and the Lakewalk but completely miss what the locals love - the city parks! Chester Park is built into a valley which allows you to escape the residential area and immerse yourself with nature. Each side of the walking path follows a river that has a some nice waterfall views, especially in spring. The... More

Chester Park is absolutely beautiful. The creek runs through the park. The water is low enough to be able to walk across the stones but still enough to make that peaceful running water sound. It is a great place for a picnic.

Nice little park in the heart of the city, summer concerts, light hiking, a swimming hole and skiing in the winter.

Hiking trail along Chester Creek is fairly easy and even includes a nice waterfall. Even though you are in the middle of town you feel like you are out in the woods. During the summer they have free concerts every Tuesday evening with a family atmosphere.

Chester Park is located near the center of downtown Duluth and we entered the Park at the Chester Park Trailhead at the intersection of East 4th Street and South 14th Avenue east. This trailhead is also located about a half mile northwest of The Rose Garden and Lake Superior. I hiked the Chester Park Trail in mid-April with my wife... More

This is a great place to go for a hike, picnic. Or maybe I should say it used to be until the city went all chainsaw happy and cut down over 100 huge trees around the creek for no necessary reason. Shame on the cites management. These were trees that withstood the flood but were still perfectly healthy and posed... More

This park have wonderful falls to play in and just look at. Especially after a rain. The falls are really gushing after a rain. Bring a picnic and spend some time.

Nice place to take a walk/hike we went on the trails some and had a good time I don't think the walking trails where marked the best. But the exercise was great and the stream is great when walking around and it feels like you are not even in town so that was nice.
