Great Superior Views

Great hike and views, the perfect challenge up in the mountain. 2.25 miles around the loop. It had good places to stop with stops to view Lake Superior and forest.

This is an easy hike up Oberg Mountain. The upward slopes are not difficult to climb, but do have rock and tree root outcroppings. The views of the forest are stunning. There are dangerous overlooks and one must not stand on the edges of these overlooks. There are many different kinds of trees and plants to observe

Did this hike with my 12 and 10 year olds. I am healthy, but currently not very active. It definitely felt like a workout, but was very manageable. The views were outstanding and there are lots of them. Most of the trail has lots of roots and rocks and there is little flat. We stopped A LOT ( that's how... More

Every Fall we visit the Northshore to get away from the hustle & bustle in the cities. We enjoy hiking, sweeping views, and the peacefulness of being out in nature. There are so many amazing hiking trails along Superior, this is one of our favorites! The color during peak Fall, usually the last week in September or first week in... More

Oberg Mountain Loop offers a easy hike for both young and old. Other then some areas of mud and water (large puddles) the trail was easily traversed by our group. We had a 5,6,and 8 year old and all of them covered the loop without assistance. There are many observation points which offer great photo opportunities. We came across many... More

This is an easy 2.5 mile hike that has incredible views all the way around. You can see back into a valley, miles of Lake Superior shoreline, as well as internal lakes and streams. The parking lot and bathroom facilities are about 2 miles from highway 61 on the North Shore drive, via a gravel road. There are signs to... More

This was such a fun loop to do on snowshoes. It wasn't too difficult and the views were amazing. If you're looking for a quick couple hours i highly recommend it!

Breathtaking views, an easy path, and accessible parking. What more could you want from a hiking trail? Note; I have no idea why TripAdvisor has claimed this is in Duluth. It's VERY much in Lutsen; I used to live just a few miles from it. It's a solid 90 miles from Duluth. Weird.

We visited the parking area to see the view from there, but did not hike. Not able to see anything from that area, but it was a busy place, nice parking area and looked like a great place to take a hike. Beautiful leaf colors!
