Just Cool

Loved walking around and see the different cars. We thought the Abe Lincoln funeral car was just cool. It was so neat to see that piece of history.

I haven't been here for 30 years. It was just as fun as it was as a child. The Lincoln Funeral car is a new addition and memorable. The opportunity to go into so many types of cars was fun. It brings a great perspective of the train industry. The most frustrating part of the visit was figuring out where... More

My boy and I love old steam engines so we were in heaven with being able to enter and walk thru many of the displays .he also enjoyed the train sets on display ..besides the big boy ,my favorite part was the miniature loco motives built by a man over many years I found every aspect of the place fascinating... Good RR museum. Lots of rolling stock to look at. Even model setups running. Negative - not enough cars open to walk through..

If you are in the area and at all interested in our early modes of transportation and industrialization, don't miss this museum. The have several monstrous locomotive engines that were engineering marvels of their time and used to haul ore cars to the ports. You can actually go into the control cabs, various train cars and a replica on Lincoln's... More

This is a great place if you love old trains. There are many trains that the public is welcome to walk up and in. The Lincoln funeral car was the highlight for me. There were some other smaller museums in the building and I was disappointed that the Ojibwa museum was closed.

We were particularly happy to find Abraham Lincoln's funeral train car on display. This alone was worth the price of admission. Lots of locomotives and assorted train cars to inspect and a little 'town' of shop windows. Train rides are also available a few times a day.

Great reuse of this old Depot with lots of history for all. There is also non-train stuff that all can enjoy. Why go here? For the history and catching The North Shore Scenic Railroad. One stop, two great things to see and experience.

If you ever rode a train, had toy trains, currently model trains, or simply enjoy historical displays, you will enjoy this museum. The reproduction of the Lincoln funeral car was a bonus added to what already would have been a great visit. As a modeler of logging railroads, the McGiffert log loader was the focus of most of my photos.... More

We have gone twice in row now to got to Thomas Day Out. So much fun the museum is great too. A very memorable trip. We also went the Aquarium too. Parking can be very difficult. We took our camper up, so we had to drive our pick up, and it was very hard to park. The parking ramp is... More
