We planned a last minute trip to the Boundary Water Canoe Area (BWCA) and the outfitter near our entry point was completely booked, so we tried Clear Waters and they were great! Easy online reservation, quick check in, and the team helped us pick the right kevlar canoe model for our trip based on our route and then helped us get it secured on top of the car, lending us a car kit to do so. The canoe (+ paddles and life jackets) worked great for us in the BWCA for 4 days and the check in process was quick. Definitely recommend them for more than just the Mississippi.

Excellent, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly people and customer service. I bought a twin kayak from here; used it a few weeks, then realized it was not doable for me to handle on a daily basis due to its size and weight. I requested for an exchange and they exchanged it no questions asked. I am enjoying my new, light solo kayak very much.

What a great trip! Kayaks were top notch! The employees were great! And the time down the river was perfect! Much of this portion of the Mississippi is very shallow and you could kayak to many sandbars to hang out and watch wildlife.

My 60 year old mom and I had a great time doing the 8 mile kayak trip on the Mississippi River this August. The trip was so smooth and easy to navigate. They give you a helpful map, safety demonstration, and tips before sending you down the river starting at their location. Once you get to the end, you call them, they pick you up, take care of all your gear and bring you back to your car at their office location. Such a relaxing trip, doesn’t take strong paddling. If you have weak paddlers, go on a day when the river is lower. Bring water and a lunch or snacks. There are lots of places to stop along sand bars and sandy banks of the river to stop, take a break, have a snack, or go swimming in the river. Also bring a dry bag if you want to keep things with you in the kayak, and a waterproof sleeve for your phone is essential for taking pictures, and calling the shuttle!!

We went inside the building, probably 5 employees there but not a one asked what we wanted or needed. So we went outside n sat a table just trying to figure out what was happening. An employee came outside an asked us if we were doing the canoe trip. Yes of course, Why else would we be here. Then you had to register at their computer with not a single employee helping or explaining anything. Got out in this shed for a canoe video n life jackets. then to the river n it was peaceful n great. Went to the park where we suppose to call them for pickup. This was the end of our 8 mile canoe trip. Called n left a voicemail on their phone to come n pick us up. Called 3 other times. Then we got someone to pick us up. When we returned we went back inside to pick up our fob for the car n told a couple of employees we had a good time. We were not acknowledged by any of them. They never even looked up or anything. We got our own fob off the hook. Left n that was it. It will take you a hour to two depending on wind. Glad this was a Groupon.

Sorry about your sub par experience. This does not sound like a normal situation at our shop and we strive for nothing short of 5 star reviews. I am guessing there were some unusual circumstances that caused the wait and missed calls on that particular day. Thank you for the feedback! We will look more into it and share this with our team to keep improving.
