This was an excursion for a national conference I recently attended. It was by far the highlight of things I did while in the area. I chose it because curling is one of those things most of us only see every four years, when we love to make fun of it.

Call me a convert, though. Our group went through a 20-minute orientation on the history and rules of the game and then another 20 minutes on the ice, learning the basics. Word of warning--it's chilly, so wear a light jacket or sweatshirt and maybe gloves, if your hands tend to get cold.

The instructor we had we a bit older, but very engaging and fun. It seems like a laid back sport, but it got competitive quick. Several elements are tricky. You throw the stone, by basically kicking off of a runners block into a lunge position, balancing on the stone and a mini "walker" for your other hand. You have to twist it just a little bit and slowly and at the right strength to get it to the other end, but not too far. We found most of our mistake were sending it past the targer. That said, after two rounds, or "ends" we could all see enough improvement to make it a game. You can also use a stick if the weird lunging/sliding thing is uncomfortable.

If you already curl, you probably already know all there is about the place. But it is nice that it is clearl accomodating to the real curlers and those of us just looking for something fun and different.

Park next to Curling Center is Great for Kids!
Jul 2017 • Family
This park (Fireman's Park) is next to the Curling Center is has a new playground, water jets, a beach, lake swimming, picnic tables, benches and a concessions stand. Great place for grandparent to take grand-kids for an outing. Trip Advisor: you may want to add a new Attraction "Fireman's Park"?

This place is AMAZING!!
Jun 2017 • Family
We had not been here before and only stopped for drinks and appetizers.
There were people curling, fun to watch as we didn't know much about the sport - may have to try it sometime, looks like fun!
The facility is beautiful and the menu has a lot to offer and a large selection of beverages.
The next time we are in town we will definitely come here to eat.

This place is a BEAUTIFUL facility and grounds!

Intro to Curling was a blast
Jan 2017 • Family
We took the intro to curling class at the Chaska Curling Center, and it was a great time. I have a very competitive family, and it was wonderful to rub our team's victory into my dad's face. The facilities are fantastic, they have ice-side drink service... highly recommended.

Curling...really?
Nov 2016 • Friends
Yes. Definitely. If you are not familiar with the sport of curling then definitely visit the Chaska Curling Center. Not only is it a great venue and an opportunity to learn about a not-so-well understood Olympic sport, but there is a great restaurant at the Center with a great view of teams challenging each other on the ice.
