Beautiful place to walk and enjoy nature!
Sep 2020
Beautiful place to walk, hike and relax over all! I try to get here at least 3 -4 times per week. Usually see many deer, wild turkeys, lots of birds and sometimes even a coyote! The grounds are well maintained, both paved and grass paths. This is one of the best park areas in the Twin Cities!

Great place to walk, run or just enjoy nature!
Apr 2019 • Solo
The snow has finally melted and the paths are now clear. Took my first walk of 2019 and as always, this place is full of life. The frogs and crickets were chirping and the night sky was beautiful as well. Can't wait to visit multiple times in the upcoming season. Grounds are very well maintained and one of the most peaceful areas of the Elm Creek park reserve near the east side of the City of Champlin

Great for riding, or walking, or snacking on fresh fruit
Aug 2018 • Family
We live right next to the park, and use the paths mostly when the snow is gone. It is wonderful at any time of year, and if you time it just right there are lots of berries bushes and fruit trees loaded with impromptu snacks. Right now raspberries and currents and elderberries are past, but the plums are just starting to ripen. The apples, pears and grapes have a bit of ripening to do yet. Just make sure you watch out for poison ivy along the fringe of the path.

Great place to walk, hike and bike, all in one!
May 2017 • Solo
Beautiful trails in the Elm Creek Park Reserve accessed on the west side of Champlin. Ample parking for around 75 vehicles, restrooms availabe and even air for your bicycle tires if needed. Trail is in process of being renovated so some parts are currently closed but you can still enjoy many miles of the trails which go through the woods and past some beautiful scenery as well! Plan to spent at least 1-2 hours in this park on the trail. You won't be disappointed either!

Great place to walk and enjoy the Fall leaves!
Oct 2016 • Solo
Located near Lifetime Fitness Center, this is a great place to walk and enjoy the beautiful Fall colors. The trail drops right into the parking lot of the Champlin Ice Arena and Lifetime Fitness. Lots of available parking near here and the bike trail is also wonderful. Right now is the perfect time to visit, especially early evening, the sunsets are awesome!

Great walking path
Aug 2016
Great for your daily walk, several paths are part of the trail and they are going thru different type of natural things, marshes, minesota prairie, parks and even between several properties.

Beautiful, well maintained trail system in Champlin that goes for miles. Great to walk, run, rollerblade or bike. Lots of wildlife to be seen too!

Great trail, beautiful scenery!
May 2016 • Solo
Ran/walked a 5k race here last week. The trails are very well kept, the scenery and landscape are breathtaking. The park is almost spotless, lots of good signage to know where you are going. Glad to see a portable toilet along the route as well. It was early evening on a week day and there were lots of hikers, bikers, skateboarders out as well!

Great trails, not as busy as deeper in the metro.

Elm Creek is my go to biking place as it is huge, has parking, has regular trails too, and isn't super busy like Theodore Wirth.

Fun trails just northeast of Minneapolis
Aug 2015
Excellent in the context of mid-western prairie landscape. You won't suddenly think you are in Moab, but these trails have excellent flow. All the trails are very well marked with lots of signs, it would be hard to get lost. Elm Creek trails are a good place to improve your technical skills, they had signs up whenever something was coming that could be a teachable moment. I never left the middle chain ring, no big big big climbs. The trails are about 12 miles total, two of which are the very easy kids trails. The real trail head has a parking lot, but you can jump on next to the dog park and go from there, also. It is about 5 miles from the swimming pond, so it is not crazy to ride, then paved trail bike to jump into the pond for $4. I didn't see any trail fees or collection boxes for the bikes. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, these trails were not crowded at all.
