Casino

Casino was clean, not smokey. Noise level was less than most casinos. If you have a favorite type of slot machine, may have hard time finding it -- not well grouped or marked.

Even though they say the rooms are not smoking our room smells of smoke. When we complained they told us "there's smoking in the casino and smoke rises, there's just no smoking directly in the room." In addition, when the air conditioner sounded like we were in a wind tunnel and we asked for a room change they refused to... More

This hotel is the worst place I've stayed in in 20 years. I've had quieter, cleaner, more up to date rooms in Motel 6 and Super 8's than here for far less money. I would have rated it lower but I gave it a one because it had a nice bed. Too bad I only got 3 hours sleep due... More

I've been to Black Bear but it's been several years. If your a regular you probably know what pays out. A bust for us and I personally don't really like the atmosphere. Incentives seem better at Grand Casino in Hinckley. Not a place I'll return anytime soon.

Want a fun casino experience with a great buffet? Try Black Bear Casino in Carlton, Minnesota (just outside of Cloquet). Wonderful new slot machines, high ceilings so not too smoky. And the Buffet ... great food ... dessert selection is impressive ... good prices. Get a players card and get the buffet for 25% or 50% off ... or free...each... More

My first and only experience with the Black Bear Casino was the breakfast buffet, which was recommended to me. Wow, there is everything you could want for breakfast and healthy options too. The price is also right at $6 (plus tax). So glad I found out about this and will consider more visits there, as my travel arrangements allow, in... More

I just went to see Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo preform live in Black Bears Otter Creek concert venue. While the acoustics are oaky, the seating is poor. The entire floor is level, making anything further than the 4th or 5th row a difficult area to see the stage from. We had an enjoyable evening because they provided 2 large... More

I'm not much of a gambler, but stayed at the Black Bear Hotel, and they gave me vouchers for the machines. I came out with 24 more dollars than I went in with. Good deal for me!

This place is so out dated and rooms are nasty. The beds and pillows must have been bought at a garage sale because they are worn out. First time staying here and will never be back.
