Nice area
Jul 2017 • Solo
This is a very nice area. You have a beach, some places to have a picnic lunch in and there is even volleyball. The trail that passes through there allows you to walk, bike around the whole lake and beyond (you're probably looking at around ~10 miles for all trails and walkways). It's a newer park/area, and is well maintained by the association of The Lakes. If you want to park there and live in Blaine, it is free to park, you will get a sticker that you can place on your windshield or your dashboard.

Great Park, Beach, Green Space!!!
Sep 2016 • Family
Lakeside Commons park is a great park in The Lakes in Blaine.
My family and I as well as many neighbors and friends go here a lot all year round as there are events there as well as things to do on your own.
Large playground area which my 7 year old daughter loves.
A gazebo type shelter for events or gatherings is very nice to provide shelter from possible rain and sun.
There is a splash pad for younger kids adjacent to the big sand beach which has roped off area for swimming, a lot of fun!
Bathrooms/Changing Rooms there as well.
There is also a "boathouse" that I am told you can rent kayaks and canoe at; never inquired so not sure but do see this equipment there.
The only negative I can see is that it appears the City of Blaine does not trim the invasive willows along the waters edge at this par and others as this gets overrun and does not allow you to see the beautiful water/lake? Not sure why not; too bad as if they did this it would only make this park that much more beautiful!
Bike paths lead to and from this park.
From Memorial Day to Labor Day you do need a windshield sticker/permit to access by car; Blaine residents is free but otherwise $5 for the year.

A Five for The Area
Aug 2015 • Family
For options for a family in the area this is a Five. There is great for what the area has to offer for family fun outings. They have a very clean and well maintained beach, a very nice splash pad as well as fishing dock and kayak and canoe rental. We live in the area and use this as much as we can in the summer. The place is very well staffed with very engaged and courteous people. A great place to spend time as family.

Newer park
Nov 2015 • Family
This park is hidden within a housing development. If you are not a resident of the city of Blaine or have an Anoka County Park past be prepaid to have to pay to park. It has a pretty nice beach, an OK dock for fishing. During day hours you can rent kayaks.
