Kids loved the variety!

Many aspects of science were presented in interesting ways! The hands on live animals were a hit as well as pendulum drawing!

Science is Cool!

My grandchildren like visiting the science museum when they visit Bemidji. There is a good variety of activities for all ages that keep them busy for quite some time. They hardly realize they are learning. The animals are the highlight and holding them is the best!

Great fun for a rainy day!
Aug 2018 • Family
We saw this place on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try on a rainy day. Our boys, ages 8 and 11, had a great time. I would say we spent a little over an hour there and highlights were holding a snake and being able to do so many interactive activities without waiting in any lines. Reasonable prices for admission.

More than it looks

Grab a spot on the street downtown and bring the kids into this super interactive museum. They have live things inside, some of which you can touch and hold, including spiders and snakes!
There are some cool things to build with, a very neat fish tank and the staff will help you make a cool drawing on the big machine. Make some bubbles, do some logic puzzles. Bathrooms are upstairs and there is a small gift shop.
I think they may have more in-depth activities upstairs sometimes that you can sign up for. We didn't live close enough to ask about these.

Nice Interactive Museum

We visited the science center on a warm Memorial Day. For two adults and two teens, we paid $33. The staff was quite friendly and we were helped by a young man with Americorp. He got out most of the amphibians and reptiles for us to hold and examine. Afterwards, he helped us explore a number of exhibits that each had connections to physics and engineering science. The kids enjoyed the different animals and I enjoyed the demonstrations of physics – though the kids did not care about my explanations. Newton’s Laws have nothing to do with fig cookies!

Fantastic for a small town!

I did not expect to see anything like this in Bemidji. There is not much for kids to do there, so It was great to find this place. You can spend the entire day there. There are couches that our 2 y.o. napped on. And they let you bring in food, so the kids can have lunch. There are plenty of live animals, that kids can touch and learn about (including a giant snake). They also have all kind of things going on on Holidays.

We were down town late Saturday afternoon and noticed this cool place with a dinosaur. Inside was an older volunteer engaged in serious conversation with a youngster. It was near closing but a number of kids with parents were still engaged with the two floors of hands on exhibits. We found some magnets for our grandson in the gift shop. Then it was time to close. What a great resource for Bemidji.

A must see in Bemidji
Sep 2016
If you have kids or are just a kid at heart yourself you will love this place. There re so many opportunities in this one building located in downtown Bemidji. My grandkids loved the hands on.....yes hands on....reptile exhibit. I was a little reluctant at first, but I hid my fears and went along with holding the variety of reptiles there. Then my grandson asked if there were any turantulas....the answer....yes...then the ultimate unwanted question...could we hold One? Well I was fine with his holding one however my grandaughter then asked me to hold my hand cupped next to hers because she was afraid but wanted to try it....well.....I cannot say no to her so I did just that .....I still can't believe I actually held a Tarantula! I breathed a sigh of relief when my grandson saw a larger one and asked if we could hold that one too....God indeed stilled upon me when I heard the answer...no not that one! The rest of the experience was the kids trying out various things.....and loving every minute of It! My great grandsons are too young yet however they both will be going there in the future!
