Rushing river!

Yet another fabulous river along the North Shore! Easy to park off the highway and walk to the river and falls.

I'm reluctant to review Caribou Falls because it's a well kept secret that tourists haven't discovered yet. But it's one of the prettiest short hikes on the North Shore, ending at one of my favorite Minnesota waterfalls. Just don't tell anybody!

Walk the quiet north shore woods. Lovely river, falls if you go far enough. Pine trees, fall colors, soothing to the soul.

This is my favorite waterfall along highway 61. It is a short half mile hike, but there are stairs at the end. It is so beautiful and so worth the trip!

If you are driving up Hwy 61 in search of waterfalls and hiking, be sure to stop at the Caribou Falls Wayside. The half-mile hike is fairly easy and the stairs down to the base of the beautiful waterfall aren't that bad. The view at the bottom is spectacular!!!

One of the activities directors at Bluefin Bay told us about the falls, as there is no sign on Highway 61 other than the Caribou River sign. There is a parking lot near the river, and a sign in the parking lot indicates the falls are a half mile hike. It is an easy hike and when you get close... More

This was a hike that a friend and I had been planning for months as a finale to a new healthier life-style - hike is considered an easy trail - it was breath-taking in many spots! Don't miss it if you are able to climb LOTS of stairs and love a beautiful view....
